Reds Suck!!!!!

Guarantee the Reds finish in either last or second to last place in the division this year. I am just not convinced there will be any turn around this year. Next year the Reds will trade away the majority of their good players. It is a common trend in the Reds clubhouse over the years.

All my zone dollars says the Reds DON'T finish in last place!!

What are we? Home for 9 games? WE'll be okay guys, calm down.

I wouldn't call the starting pitching good.

But it's not bad either. Their 4.33 ERA (that's 0.07 above the league average) is very run-of-the-mill average. They've pitched 265 innings (third in MLB) and have given up only 70 walks (that's 2nd best in MLB). The problem I'm noticing right now is that they are pitching in spurts -- pitch well for one stretch then struggle.

I agree with Green, they won't finish in last place. But I also don't think things will vastly improve. And Green is right about another, they beeeeeeeeeee-low playing West Coast teams...

This is the problem I'm noticing, they have no go to (not Goto for you KotOR II fans) guy in the dugout or in the front office. They have no stability (how many managers and GMs in the past five seasons?) and their main motivator and pat-on-the-back guy, Sean Casey is long gone. There's nothing there.

Yeah, the starters are certainly better than they've been in recent seasons... Todd Van Poppel. Jose Acevedo.

Harang should pick it up soon, though he has disappointed me a lot thus far. Arroyo rarely gets any run support, and I'm worried he'll struggle down the stretch anyways. I like Lohse.

Agreed. I figure the Reds will go on a mild tear at some point around mid-season, but it won't amount to much in the end. They look like a 70-75 win team -- par for the course this decade.

I think that is what they need to do. Trade Dunn!!!! He is a DH. He sucks in left. He does not drive in enough runs. The Reds need someone in the middle of the lineup that makes contact and will not strike out as much. Check out Dunn's BA with RISP. It is about .125.

They need a real run producer at 1B. Hatteberg does not do it. Conine is too old. It would be nice if David Ross could be a right handed middle of the order RBI man. Will Encarnacion live up to the potential he showed last year.

Of course after making my last comment about the bad starting pitching, they win the next two with a shutout and a pitchers dual. Is this just an aberation or the start of a run to the top?

If it's a run to the top, they started at the right time!

I live between Washington D.C. and Baltimore and there is no way I can support a team that has not seen the playoffs since, well, I can't remember. Plus, I fully expect the O's to do the seasonal swone in the coming weeks with the firing of Sam Perlazzo shortly after. If they do finish in 2nd place in the division, they won't make the playoffs again because their record will not be above .500. Until Angelos sells the team, this will be the O's lot in life.

And one last thing. I HATE THE YANKEES!!!!! I AM SICK OF HEARING ABOUT THEM!!!!! I HOPE THEY LOSE EVERY FREAKING GAME THEY PLAY!!!!

Sorry. The caps lock key got stuck on some left over beer. But it sure felt good.

Unfortuantly it became an aberation. The run to the top lasted just a few days.

Been a Reds fan since I can remember. Suffered thru some pretty bad teams in the 50's and 60's ... and I just don't remember anything like this.

Worst part is .. I just don't see it gatting any better.

Good to see you around again Pat. PM me sometime buddy. Semper Fi!
