Spor_tees
No team took a flyer on Jeff Samarzdja in case he changes his mind...if he would have played football he would have been the second or third WR off the board. Rhema McKnight ended his career as the second all time TD maker in Irish history.

Anyone know? A site called The Great Blue North Draft Report does a good job of keeping an up-to-date list of rookie free agent signings. Its GBNreport.com. HoosierCat
from his blog:Bengals bringing in LB Earl Everett as free agentThe Bengals will populate their offseason roster with around a dozen college free agents, players who were not among the 255 drafted Saturday and Sunday.A source in Tallahassee, Fla., said tonight that former Florida linebacker Earl Everett is headed to Cincinnati to sign a rookie free agent contract with the Bengals.Everett was projected at one time to be as high as a third-round pick. He is an inside linebacker who had 85 tackles last season for the Gators, in addition to a sack and six tackles for loss.NOW can we stop the b*tching about an LB...? Stripes
This will be the second straight season the Bengals sign a top-end defensive UDFA if it does go down.
derekshank
Well, when you think about it... the Bengals are a good team with a bad defense. That means that an undrafted free agent can choose a team that won't be in teh basement, but he'll also have an opportunity for playing time. That is probably a big reason that some of the better undrafted FA's have desired to come to Cincy the past 2 years. That said... I'm pretty surprised he wasn't drafted. I was fairly high on him, because he's such a good cover LB. I'm guessing though that I just esteemed him far too highly, or else someone would have grabbed him in a 7 round draft. Most people on here (myself included) would've been happy with him in the 5th.That just goes to show you that everybody on this site has no room to judge a draft pick because no scout in the NFL wanted him at all. Nobull
Gimme Melvin Bullitt.I totally agree. Along with Geoffrey Pope. Zac Herold (TE)from UNO is pretty legit also.

If they do get him signed, it means either they were interested in him, or they read these message boards and are doing it just to appease all of us that complained about some of their picks. So who is the Bengals scout on this board? Now if they can just sign Darius Walker too!
derekshank
I'd be in favor of going hard after Newton. He's had injury concerns... but I think he's a step up from anyone on the current roster to play alongside of Kelly. And from what I read... his greatest strength is in the redzone. Peronally, this is where I feel the Bengals could use a TE the most - especially with Henry out for 8 games.http://www.newerascouting.com/index.php?c=21&a=391http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr.../joenewton.htmlhttp://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2007/newton_joehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lt98ww6kuo0
