ANtwan Barnes OLB Florida International..

Combine: 4.45 in the 40-yard dash … 1.55 10-yard dash … 2.58 20-yard dash … 35-inch vertical jump … 10-foot-2 broad jump … 4.32 20-yard shuttle … 12.16 60-yard shuttle … 7.29 three-cone drill … Bench pressed 225 pounds 31 times.

Sounds exactly like I would expect...and like I said earlier, high upside athletes...

Seriously, how would a guy like Pitcock help this team?

Well, to begin with, 3 of our 4 DTs are 30+. A little youth wouldn't hurt. Quinn is great value on day 2. If the best he is, is the second coming of John Thornton, at least he doesn't chew up $4m+ in cap space. You got a better DT? Fine, pick 'em. I don't care, just gimme a DT.

McBean from Ok State has been getting some talk of a guy that could be a good gamble pick...a guy with a lot of talent but hasn't lived up to potential....yet.

Schweinart had some later-round DTs he liked, dig around on the draft fourm if you're interested. I think it's a good target for round four. The team is 50/50 with Askew and Peko, maybe they get lucky again...

4th Rd is 50/50 territory.

Almost a waste of time, digging into the deep rounds. This usually indicates a mental issue or other defect. Welcome to our world (me and the voices in my head).

You know it'll be some guy we've probably only heard of once or twice... We'll bitch and moan about the pick then they'll turn out being good.

Kurgan, I didn't even realize Barnes was there... Also Stephen Nicholas OLB South Florida.

I would be PUMPED with Nicholas. 4 year starter, plays like he hates you, good intagibles... Could be groomed to take over for Landon at WLB.

I admit I had a bit of a man-crush on Jay Alford as a 4th round pick... but he was snagged by the Giants. The Steelers also grabbed Matt Spaeth who I another guy I wanted in the 4th.

As it's looking right now... I'd be pretty pleased with Siler in the 4th, as well as Florida DE/DT Ray McDonald, as the tweener type that Marvin seems to love so much.

You didn't have to complain this year because the Bengals didn't have a third round pick to spend on a criminal that can't even get on the field.

:lmao:

There are thousands of kids all over the Cincy area still waiting for that old black hat to bring him to life.

Any of:

Prescott Burgess OLB Michigan

Zack DeOssie OLB Brown (+ long snapper)

Matt Toenia DT Oregon

Tony Taylor OLB Georgia

DT Paul Soliai DT Utah

Tanard Jackson S Syracuse

Josh Gattis S Wake Forest

CJ Gattis CB/S Clemson

maybe David Irons, keep it in the family

I'll go with:

Tanard Jackson - Good Athlete that can switch between Safety and Corner

Brandon Silar - Could be a good guy to step in and take the place of a Miller or Landon Johnson for the future

Earl Everett - Can be a good situational pass rusher

Jon Abbate - Was a leader on a great defense (poor man's Poz)

John Wendling - Could he a be a polished version of Ethan Kilmer?

Dan Mozes - Fits what the Bengals look for in a an accomplished College lineman that can play all the interior positions

I got 20 of the 1st 100 left:

1. Brandon Siler

2. Antonio Pittman

3. Marcus Thomas

4. Tanard Jackson

5. Tarrell Brown

6. Fred Bennett

7. Aundra Allison

8. Doug Free

9. Earl Everett

10. Jay Moore

11. David Irons

12. Manny Ramirez

13. LeRoy Harris

14. Mason Crosby

15. Ben Patrick

16. Darius Walker

17. Antonio Johnson

18. John Wendling

19. Rufus Alexander

20. Paul Soliai

Plus 5 more 4th rounders left before the Bengals pick:

1. Baraka Atkins

2. Martez Milner

3. CJ Gaddis

4. Zak DeOssie

5. Kevin Boss

The massive run on WRs in the 3rd round may make the Bengals jump the gun earlier than they might have iif they intend to pick a 3rd WR, so I wouldn't be shocked to see them take Allison.

But hopefully somebody's head prevails who's got defense on their mind. At this point, I'd say either a 2-down MLB like Brandon Siler, a weakside/nickel LB like Earl Everett. Or a hope to get more LB versatility like either Alexander, Steve Nicholas or Rory Johnson.

I'd like to see their 4th round pick be Rory Johnson because he should be able to swing all 3 positions at least on a par with Landon Johnson.

If they go DT, highly unlikely they take Marcus Thomas, but Antonio Johnson would be a solid prospect to eventually replace Thornton and possibly even a DE/DT to replace B-Rob. If they want a power gap DT, then Soliai can eventually replace Sam Adams.

But if they want the best player w/o off-field problems, then it's Zak DeOssie IMO. He be a great attack strongside backer and a long snapper.

I would crap my pants if they got Patrick...

Yeah... this is just about the polar opposite of what happened last year with all the TE's taken way too early. It seems like several have fallen further than expected (with the exception of Spaeth). The only problem with the Patrick pick would be that of fear. They already used half of the first day on offense... can they really use their first pick of the 2nd day on offense again when there is so much to address on defense?

I guess I'd say, if he's the BPA... grab him. I'd say the same for Chandler... but I think I'd have a hard time believing that either of those guys would have a bigger impact on the team than Earl Everett if he's available.

All of that to say... I would be nearly as surprised if they used the 4th on offense as I was when I heard the name Kenny Irons.
