HoosierCat
Deshea Townsend + some Pitt scrub beat the crap out of some poor slob in a bar...http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...g/s_496246.html
hrod382
Well, I guess the Steelers fans can no longer bash us as for 'being full of criminals'.They're cheaters on HGH/'Roids and get in bar fights.
Whur CHad At?
I would rather our players smoke weed and point a stolen gun at people while under the influence
duus
Just the fact that this information actually made its way into print is news enough. Most folks around here know that the Pittsburgh media (and probably everything else ... police, etc) are 'controlled' by the Steelers organization. Ever wonder why you hear so little about the Steelers players year-in and year-out? It surely is not because they are squeeky clean like all the fans and national media types want you to believe. I have made plenty enough acquantances in my 16 years in Pittsburgh to know of stories of 'should be arrests' that never actually happen because the arresting officer discovers the guy to be a Steeler. Yes, the fan roots do run that deep ... don't let anyone tell you differently. (I can hear SteelersFan87 now as he screams that I am making things up. That's the point ... they never want the truth to come out. Few have tried it around here, and those folks usually disappear into the sunset or shut-up pretty quickly). Just wait a little while as I bet you will see some 'correction' to this story that should never have gotten out.
Ox
Classic. I'm sure this is the kind of thing that will be quickly swpt under the rug on the local shows in Pittsburgh. Heard any talk on it yet Duus?

Anyway, yeah, this isn't good and I certainly don't condone it. I like Deshea, and I must say I'm dissapointed in him. But to compare this to the Bengals? Lol. Let's see, 2 guys in a bar fighting some douche who started talking s**t to them, or a bunch of guys getting high, driving around wasted, pointing guns at people, and giving alcohol to teenage girls? Yeah, I'll take the bar fight. It's the lesser of 2 evils.

HoosierCat
Just wait a little while as I bet you will see some 'correction' to this story that should never have gotten out.Damn, duus, you are good! This just in from PFT:DESHEA DENIES ARRESTWell, we might have to revise the Turd Watch.Per a league source, Steelers cornerback Deshea Townsend denies a report that he was arrested for an early Saturday bar fight. Townsend also claims, we're told, that he was not involved in the altercation that gave rise to a story in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that Townsend and another player on the team had been busted. We're also told that Raymond Burgess, identified by the Tribune-Review as a member of the Steelers' practice squad, has no connection to the team. He's supposedly a freaking bartender at the club where the fight occurred.Stay tuned.
muelleaw1
Naturally...... The freaking Rooneys make sure everything is just so. Doesn't hurt that they have well known previous ties to the Irish mafia. The problem isn't with one team or one city. It's league wide, and even all of sports wide. Young people, no mentors, too much money, sense of entitlement, blah, blah, blah. Everyone just hates to be the poster boys. It'll be somebody else this year. Bets on who??? I say the Bears. Its also nice that SteelerFan87 also deduced from the situation that someone talked sh*t to them, and they retaliated. I didn't see that in the article. Maybe they were talking sh*t to the bar patron, and he defended himselft when they double teamed him. Is that an impossible situation????? Cape Cod Steel Head
Oh no! We starting to become The Bungles. Horrors! I hope we don't miss the playoffs for the next 15 yrs.
duus
Oh no! We starting to become The Bungles. Horrors! I hope we don't miss the playoffs for the next 15 yrs.Now that would be downright enjoyable. We can only hope. Maybe I should come up with a plan for my moving date ... "Stay in Pittsburgh as long as the Steelers fail to make the playoffs". Count me in as one who will be walking the streets of Pissburgh with a big old smile for 15 years.(glad to see the rats have reappeared ... it was gettin' a little boring around here)
SteelerFan87
A few comments:1. What duus, are you going to say the Rooneys control PFT too now? It ALMOST made sense when it was the Pittsburgh media supposedly in on this conspiracy, but now news sources totally independant of the Steelers and the city of Pittsburgh are in on it too? Damn, somebody better do something about this. Or, maybe Mark Madden is just a dumbass former wrestling announcer who knows nothing about real journalism. Yeah, I think that's more likely.2. Yeah, I was wondering who this Raymond Burgess guy was. I'd never heard of him before, and while I don't know all the practice squad guys, I know quite a few of them. How dumb is the Trib if they don't know who's on the Steelers and who owns a bar? Of course, maybe this wasn't in the sports section? I don't get the trib, so I don't know.3. clevelandandy, I assumed the other guy started the fight, because it says, "Townsend was at Margarita Mama's at 1:45 a.m. Friday when Chris Graham, whose age and address were not available, began arguing with another man, Raymond Burgess, Pittsburgh police said." If Burgess had started it, they would have probably phrased it "when Raymond Burgess began arguing with Chris Graham". I could be wrong, but that's the implication of the wording. Horrors???? Just an example of one more Pittsburgh adult with a 3rd grade education.... Maybe he'll understand this: Steelers player bad-bad. No play nice with drink man. Have to go on timeout now. Get up. Walk out. Go home. One of these days, NFL players, regardless of team, will figure this out...
