walzav29
Here is a quote from King,c. Marvin Lewis, I'm told, quite reliably, that a few of your lads were in a place on South Beach called the Jersey Diner Friday morning around 5. Yes, Friday at 5 a.m.I'm all for the Bengals cleaning up their image, but if they weren't driving drunk, had no weed, or guns. I don't care that they are partying at 5am. They should be commended for not getting arrested during Superbowl week.
Stripes
A few guys took note of King's comments here:http://forums.bengalszone.com/index.php?showtopic=14171
derekshank
While it's true that not a whole lot of good comes from being out "partying" at 5am... I'm willing to bet that it was true for players from all 30 teams not in the Super Bowl. In other words, the only story here is that there are Bengal players with free time. Kirkendall
Now really, do you guys really care what Peter King thinks or says? He's nothing more than a glorified gossip columnist that covers football that drops names and tries to be funny. You know, kinda like PFT? These guys make zero football sense. So today kiddies, the topic is clown columnists that cover the NFL but don't talk football. For example, here's a blip on King's analysis on Moorehead.Third-and-7, Indy 19, late first quarter, momentum all Chicago's, Bears up 14-6. And Aaron Moorehead drops a simple crossing-route throw from Manning. Son, those are the kind of plays that help you lose.and...Four turnovers in the first 13 minutes! And a muffed snap!and...Fourth-and-3 for Indy from the Bear 36, down eight, and Tony Dungy punts it. Don't like the call, even with the ball getting pooched down at the five by Hunter Smith. Why don't you like the call Peter? Explain yourself. Really. Prove the fact you know football and aren't a typical page six gossip columnist. Prove it clown. Prove you have more to offer us than the same things we hear from John Madden. PROVE IT! HairOnFire
Now really, do you guys really care what Peter King thinks or says? He's nothing more than a glorified gossip columnist that covers football that drops names and tries to be funny. You know, kinda like PFT? These guys make zero football sense. But making zero sense about a sport being covered isn't all that important to a sportswriter. More important is finding a storyline that a casual fan can become emotionally attached to, and if that story can be easily sensationalized....so much the better. In this example King is simply piling onto an existing storyline about the Bengals, and it makes no difference if the points he addresses make any sense whatsoever. Clearly the early morning hour of 5 AM suggests the Bengals are out of control because no person of substance is up at that time of day. Right? And of course Marvin needs to be added to the story so that he can be blamed for something even when nothing happened. The end result is another chapter about character is added to the growing storyline, but more importantly...a lazy sportswriter stumbled into enough content to scab together another column. And at this point who cares if any of it makes sense? (Chad/Murder/Investigation!!!)
ShulaSteakhouse
Chad murdered someone? I bet he gets a 4 game suspension.

HairOnFire
OFFICIAL RULESEveryone in the organization is eligible. Players, coaches, owners, front-office employees, etc. If the person works for the team and is arrested, the points will be assigned. The term "players" includes players on the roster, the practice squad, and any of the various "reserve" lists (with the exception of "reserve-retired"). The scoring system is simple. Seven points for a felony arrest. Three points for a misdemeanor arrest. One point for a conviction. If there are are multiple charges, the points will stack, too. Typical. If the charges are dropped there's no change in scoring. If a player goes to court and proves his innocence there are no changes in the scoring. And almost as bad, arrests score up to seven times as many points as a conviction, proving the point that perception is far more important than proof of guilt. Last, everyone within an organization is considered equal, meaning the arrest of a janitor or lunch lady is to be viewed the same way as the arrest of an assistant coach or a player who starts. Bottom Line: There's nothing quite as funny, stupid, or unfair as a hand-wringer on a crusade.
