schweinhart
This wasn't the defense's fault. They played well enough to win. This is 100% on the offense and special teams. With all the money we spend on O, how can we score just 17 points? Palmer was awful for much of the game, the run game never got going, and the o-line had, what, 5 or 6 false starts? IN WEEK 17?? WTF???No, the D did fine. If any coach deserves the boot it's Brat.Even though I'd like to see better perseonnel on D, I agree...Pin this loss on the offense and not Tory James, Shayne Graham or anybody else than Carson Palmer really since he is the head of the snake. I'd say it has less to do with Brat than years past but by all means replace him. I believe the fired head coach at Arizona State? might be a frontrunner if the front office looks for a scapegoat to this season other than Palmer and Marvin. tc81190
Not sure how much more wide open Palmer needs a WR to be over the middle like Henry was on 3rd and 10 or how many days he needs to throw the ball, but that throw was pretty much typical of how many open receivers he's missed all year and especially in the last quarter of the season.Bench him now. Are you serious? Are you serious? The 1st Bengal to go for 4,000 yds. .I don't mean to be harsh, but please, for the love of god, shut the HELL up, and stop making yourself look like a total jackass. schweinhart
They have to live or die with Palmer but based on this year, it'll be die until he can regain whatever he's lostUm, he DID throw for 4000 yards this year. A Bengals record. Coming off a catestrophic knee injury. Um...Ummmmmmm....maybe you don''t get to see the games. He made some crap throws this year, and some poor decisions...but no more than any other QB does, and he was sacked an insane amount of times this year and hit hard probably more times this year than any QB in the league.Add to that, the Bengals inability to maintain a consistent running game, and the lack of a threat to pop anything more than a 10 yard run. I will not dump on Carson, the whole entire team seemed less than motivated and not eager in proper execution this season.
Stripes
Carson had an excellent season as a passer. I don't see how that can be argued. He'll be in the Pro Bowl, and his numbers very much reflect a good season. He fumbled way too frequently, but that doesn't sound like too difficult a fix to me. membengal
schweihart, step away from the keyboard. You seriously thought that Anthony Wright was a better option? Seriously? You're drunk. Have to be.I guess we will ignore the two 4th quarter drives that Carson led to give them the lead. Or the drive that had them to where they should have won. Or the drive last week that should have tied it. Or maybe it's Carson's fault that the gameplan in Indy had him with all of eight (EIGHT!) throws at halftime in that game (I still marvel over that). I missed the part where he was missing tackles against SD, while leading the Bengals to 41 points. Or maybe I missed that he led them back against Baltimore on the road, in a game where his teammates spotted the Ravens a 14 point lead. Or that he put together one of the best passing seasons in Bengals history coming off of a catestrophic knee injury. Seriously, you really must be drunk right now.Of all the posters that I presumed would send me to a self-imposed moratorium from the board while drivel gets spewed, you would have been last on the list of people I would have suspected...
