kentjett
I saw the kicker cross before Brooks, did you guys see it any different. Two pass interference calls were horrible. I'm really pissed off because we were the better team but we f**ck it up w/ turnovers. drop passes and bad calls.

WhoDey93285
It was just a smidge and probably had nothing to do with the outcome of the play, but you know, those are the rules.
kentjett
That's bulls**t. That have to let that slide. I saw three horrible nitpicky calls. The refs have sucked this entire year.
Stripes
It's a call they'll make everytime they see it. It's unfortunate, but that's how it goes. If we can convert the extra point, this discussion is never possible.
BengalChamps
I replayed the onside kick several times.Brooks' feet DID NOT cross the line before the ball was kicked. If that play is not reviewable it should be. That was a terrible call. We were not offsides!
derekshank
There were several very ticky-tacky penalties that cost our team. It seemed like the refs really had it out for us in this one... but what are you going to do. It's over. We lost. We didn't play well enough to overcome the turnovers... and those weren't the refs fault.
TJJackson
Agreed....the refs were certainly not our friends, but we mainly shot ourselves in the foot with ill-timed penalties and shoddy execution

If we can convert the extra point, this discussion is never possible.Disagree. They won't call it everytime. Players are probably over the line by as much as Brooks was on every other kickoff in NFL play, but the spirit of the rules lets it slide. You could say a critical play like this one calls for closer officiating, but to me, that's a call that a ref calls if he wants to -- that is, he knows he's sticking a fork in the Bengals when he throws the flag. Call me paranoid, but reverse the two teams in that situation ... think he flags the Broncos?Bengals history still sticks in the minds of the humans calling these games. Not saying they're crooked, but they let biases influence those split-second decisions, for sure. And I do believe that, as a rule, they're predisposed to screw this franchise. Mike Carey has single-handedly kept this team from playing a meaningful game next weekend.
cincy9275
i thought shane struck the ball before brooks crossed the line. if these kind of situation cannot be reviewed the they need to scrap instant replay all together. if everything is not reviewable then nothing should be. either get it right or don't do it at all! I am not into conspiracy theories but didn't Mike Carey's crew do the TB game?

If that play is not reviewable it should be. That was a terrible call. We were not offsides!Ahmad Brooks broke the plain of the line of scrimmage with his body prior to the ball being kicked. Just as any other play during the game, if a player breaks the plain before the ball is snapped and does not return, it is offsides and penalty will be called. An individuals feet does not have to cross the line for this to occur.
