ML's press conference (post SD carnage)

Yeah it was pretty status quo for Marvin, he says they are going to tweak things a little bit with the starting lineups.

The only thing I was listening for was to see if he fired Bresnahan, he didn't. I don't understand how your defensive unit can give up 35 points in 15 minutes and 20 seconds and only 7 points came off turnovers. We will be right back here complaining about the D again after the Saints put up 30 plus next week.

we'll beat the saints, no doubt and make our playoff run from there.

The trouble that will decide if we're in or out of the playoffs will be just like I said before. The last 3 games of the season will decide our fate...

I hope you're right, I honestly do. Unfortunately, I'm trying to think of at least one other time when you've been right and I'm coming up empty.

I still need to see a couple games strung together with this defense playing 4 quarters and them showing they have any pride or heart. They quit again and laid down and got run over just like they did versus the Pats and Falcons recently.

The defense needs to do a complete 360 right now and I don't see it happening. The kick off coverage team needs to not give up 2 huge returns in one game.

To top it off Justin Smith almost ran me over coming out of PBS today around noon in his over-sized pick up truck - talking on his cell phone the whole way and ran right through a standing red light in an intersection in a turn only lane (had to go around me as I was sitting at the light). Typical attitude of pro athletes...laws don't apply to them, and of course the "star" of the defense is rushing out of the stadium as fast as he can.

Thanks for the great game yesterday Justin - not a single sack for what, the 3rd, 4th straight game? As i've always said - overrated and useless. He should stick to lining his gut with beer on Sundays.

I didn't say we won't beat the Saints, I am just saying it will take 35 points or more to beat them, you can mark the Saints down for 30 points before the Bengals even fly to the NO

Did he hint as to who the "tweaks" will be?

No he didn't but he better get Tory James off of the field. James can't cover Colston or Horn, and that would be a nightmare. There are not many changes he can really make. The only change that will satisfy me is a firing of one Chuck Bresnahan

Just now tuning in ....... feeling is just starting to return to my fingers now that the shock is wearing off. Just my opinion, but CB shouldn't hang around and wait to be fired .... He should quit on his own ......... He should have done it as soon as he could get a face to face with Coach Lewis after that debacle.

Just my 2 cents.

I am starting to think Marvin gave up on Frazier too early. If you remember the D was ranked 28th in 2003, they actually improved to 19th in 2004, but still 26th against the rush.

I would never want to be responsible for getting someone fired, and I am sure Chuck B. is a good human being and has a lovely family, but he needs to go. I almost broke my table yesterday because of his reluctance to defend the San Diego offense.

I'm beginning to think that I'll never see the Bengals with a good defense in my lifetime. :(

Shocking stuff. Then again, it would have served you right if he'd hit your car, then stopped to exchange insurance info, quickly recognizing you as Kid Steakhouse, prompting him to beat your ass around the intersection for about 15 or 20 minutes.

Between punches you could have told him how much you think he sucks, and assuming for a moment that your eyes weren't filled with blood you might have been able to see if he cared.

That said, I'm just kidding, and I'm glad you decided to stay safely hidden in your car.

We kept giving them GREAT starting field position....pretty simple actually
