Gutless D/Fire Bresh/D Sucks Megathread

Time to face it, this team ain't going anywhere soon. There is absolutely

no killer instinct on the defense. The coaches have no answers.

I still contend that the defensive line is the root cause. They are too

small/weak to physically handle most o-lines and don't have any technique

or scheme from the coaches to overcome their athletic limitations.

Marvin should be taken to task for the state of the defense. It's really

getting old being slapped around week after week.

Yea what an embarrising D this team is, and yes the front four sucks never any pressure and the blitz suck, the pass D is horrible cause of the lack of presure and we will go nowhere because of them, this game should be a blow out but no we always let teams get back in it. Wow just bad really bad.

the defensive line is not small...it has to be easily one of the heaviest D-Lines in the league

I posted this at the end of the game thread, but it needs it's own topic:

Marvin Lewis has only one option to right this ship. Pull a George Bush and fire Bresh TODAY. Seriously. Announce it tomorrow morning and get this D turned around. The only thing we could do to make this Defense worse is to let him keep a job. Anyone could take it over and make something happen. Marvin has failed in his inability to cut this cancer from the team soon enough, but he still has time to at least save us all some self-respect.

OK, we dominated them in the 1st half. Then we came out and the def forgot to come out of the locker room! Who told Marvin to challenge that play? After the hit on TJ why wasn't the defender thrown out of the game? Chad was on today! Rudi, what were you thinking? An alarm clock excuse! Whats next?

Fire Chuck, yeah it's just that simple. Much more needs to happen after that. Please do not overpay Justin Smith. Sure the guy flashes once or twice a game, but he will never put consistent pressure on a QB, he has a good motor. Who cares get to the damn QB and stop making 78 tackles 5 yards down the damn field. This has got to be the worst coached defense in the league.

that was 4 down territory for christ sake! that f'ing ben-gal defense wasn't going to stop anyone. and the play calling has sucked for weeks. the freggin' punt against the ravens with 6-7 minutes to go right around mid field?????? the best offense is keeping our defense off the field. run an extra play! what would it hurt? the D will give up the points and eat the clock any way! I second that, how in the heck do you have 500 yards of offense and LOSE!!!!! The defense which i thought looked good for the first 2 quarters sucked it up the last 2. How do you let LT get 4 count them 4 Touchdowns! I am beside myself right now.

dude, that was a bad play call... sure but the offense put up 41 points. To put up 41 points and lose, is embarrassing. For every one bad play call there were 40 others that were great and worked. This loss is squarely on the defense.

Sure, Adams is morbidly obese and is absolutely huge. He would probably

help his game to lose some weight. The rest are smaller than average,

especially in terms of muscle mass. Look at the game footage, our

d-linemen wouldn't win many arm wrestling contests based on arm size or

apparent strength.

The proof is in the play, they definitely get pushed around by most every team.

The strength and conditioning coach should follow the Defensive Coaches

out the door. Besides lack of power, this defense looks lethargic and slow compared to the

competition, especially late in games. Either they don't have the athletic ability

or they aren't getting "coached up" properly.

Bresnahan should go and the sooner the better. I think Marvin should take over the Defense for the remainder of the season. Supposedly he's a genius in this area, time to prove it. Maybe Lavar Arr & Co. and Ray Lewis & Co. made him look better than he actually is in this area.

i would have liked to see marvin go on 4th more than he has in a few games. because if you know that your defense is by far one of the worst in nfl. then why put them back on the field when you still have 1 more shot i don't care if it is 4 & 40 because that is still better than putting this defense on the field because you know that piss poor pathetic gutless defense is not going to stop anyone!!!!!!!
