Henry Court Date Postponed

COURT PROCEEDINGS: The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Thursday that wide receiver Chris Henry’s DUI trial in Clermont County has been continued to Nov. 27. A plea or guilty verdict nets him either a four-game suspension under the NFL’s substance abuse policy or similar discipline from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

I would almost have rather had him plead today and get the frigging suspension over with. If the bengals do somehow make a run, it would suck to lose him for all of December.

Since Henry has already been suspended 2 games, and held out of a few others, you wonder if he'll just get a 1-2 game suspension.

I vote better later than now. Without Henry the Bengals offense has become surprisingly toothless....or at the very least they've completely lost the ability to strike quickly.

Yeah, me too. But it's six of one...half dozen of the other. Maybe they are hoping they can continue the heck out of the thing until after the season. If so, wunnerful; if not this bites us in the a$$ in December.

You guys know my feeling on henry(doesn't deserve to be in the league) but just on wins and losses, i vote later, especially the way our offense looks

He'll plea bargain or plead guilty to a lesser charge and won't get any suspension.

There are a lot of reasons these get continued. Could be court congestion, request by a party or any number of other procedural things. One thought is that it could be the prosecution looking for a delay to try to bring its evidence together better or give more time for a plea. I would be interested to know if it was requested by somebody. From what little I've heard, they may end up having a hard time with the test results for some reason -- happens all the time. If Henry's atty knows this, it could be the reason he refuses to plead.
