HoosierCat Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 bengals.com...COURT PROCEEDINGS: The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Thursday that wide receiver Chris Henry’s DUI trial in Clermont County has been continued to Nov. 27. A plea or guilty verdict nets him either a four-game suspension under the NFL’s substance abuse policy or similar discipline from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.I would almost have rather had him plead today and get the frigging suspension over with. If the bengals do somehow make a run, it would suck to lose him for all of December. Quote
Stripes Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 This has gotten old. If he's going to miss some more games, then just let it happen. Better now than later. Quote
jditty47 Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 sigh. i dont even know what to say about this? i hope he doesnt get suspended any longer is all i can say. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Well with Kelly out - maybe it will hold them over until he gets back.Since Henry has already been suspended 2 games, and held out of a few others, you wonder if he'll just get a 1-2 game suspension. Quote
jditty47 Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 nope, he'll get 4 games, its a different offense. Quote
HairOnFire Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 I vote better later than now. Without Henry the Bengals offense has become surprisingly toothless....or at the very least they've completely lost the ability to strike quickly. I want Henry back ASAP. Quote
Kazkal Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 I wonder if his 4 games would be tacked on too the 2-3 he alrdy missed. mybe he'll just get it postponed till march. Quote

But it's six of one...half dozen of the other. Maybe they are hoping they can continue the heck out of the thing until after the season. If so, wunnerful; if not this bites us in the a$$ in December. PMThor Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 f**k him. I don't even care what happens on the field. The guy deserves whatever he gets and the Bengals should have known better with this idiot.Yeah I am harsh. I don't like idiots, no matter how talented they are. Quote
Kazkal Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 I guess you like losing.are you sure yer not a steelers fan? Quote
Tasher Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 I would agree that a faster resolution would be far better. Guilty, suspended, back before Thanksgiving! Thurman HenryJudge Marvin Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 i guess he just isn't a big enough star to get this postponed until after the season like they do for so many others You guys know my feeling on henry(doesn't deserve to be in the league) but just on wins and losses, i vote later, especially the way our offense looks Quote
agreen_112 Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 He'll plea bargain or plead guilty to a lesser charge and won't get any suspension. Quote
BengalByTheBay Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 There are a lot of reasons these get continued. Could be court congestion, request by a party or any number of other procedural things. One thought is that it could be the prosecution looking for a delay to try to bring its evidence together better or give more time for a plea. I would be interested to know if it was requested by somebody. From what little I've heard, they may end up having a hard time with the test results for some reason -- happens all the time. If Henry's atty knows this, it could be the reason he refuses to plead. Quote
