Tasher
http://bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=5562Practice squad moves October 3, 2006Posted: 4:10 p.m. Reuber The Bengals today made the following practice squad moves: Signed free agent tackle Alan Reuber (6-6, 307), a second-year NFL player from Texas A&M. Reuber first entered the NFL as a college free agent with Minnesota in 2004. He played in three games for Arizona in ’04 and spent most of last season on the Arizona practice squad. Released guard Kyle Takavitz, first-year player from the University of Cincinnati. Takavitz played in all four of this year’s preseason games and had been on the practice squad since Sept. 20. HoosierCat
Look, the Bengals need to improve, right? Not that they are that bad right now, but really, they are just lacking that certain something, y'know?Well, if recent reports have it correctly, Mike Brown wasn't exactly on Roger Goodell's side when it came to who was gonna be the next NFL commish. And part of the recent Goodell visit was to try to make friends with Mikey. And supposedly part of the reason the league acted so swiftly on Odell was because the bengals encouraged them to. And, finally, Roger is under a certain amount of pressure to tamp down the recent eruption of nitwits, bums, and neer'do'well's in the league.I think I see a grand possibility here. The Bengals become the official NFL prision team.Odell? Suspension recinded buddy, c'mon back. Albert Haynesworth? C'mon down! That guy in KC who just got his 347th DUI? Let me introduce you to Eric Steinbach, Justin Smith, and our newest WR pickup, Koren Robinson. Onterrio Smith and Ricky Williams, you're back in the NFL. And Chris Henry's newest roomie can be that guy from SD who's dealing "lean." Given Chris' collection of friends I'm sure there is a huge market expansion opportunity there. As an added bonus, since all these p[eople really need to be kept under control -- and some under lock and key -- the Bengals can hire one of those private prison companies to build them a facility, which will be a combination jail and indoor practice bubble! Mikey doesn't have to pay for it and the team gets their weatherproof practice-and-detention facility!Anybody with me?

ShulaSteakhouse
I would venture to guess this means they are indeed going to look at Whitlock moving to LG and Steiny going to Center for the rest of the season. So they needed another tackle to take Whitworth's place.I just don't know how a lanky 6'5" guy will be at center. Maybe they figure it's an upgrade regardless to Guy-chick, and may make Steinbach more affordable to re-sign possibly.dunno, why else would you make this move now? (losing a back-up guard and not replacing him with another guard/center type)
