Yep, right now, 7th sounds about right - 10 is a bit drastic.

I do think the Bengals are going to come out pretty focused and ticked off vs TB though - and no one on the opposition is going to want that.

As bad as they looked Sunday, you don't beat KC and Pitt on the road because you suck. The NE game was within reach until the 4th quarter when they basically gave up due to the turnovers. Nor can I see Carson having two bad games in a row like that - he's too good, rust/knee or not.

Gonna be a long bye week....

It seems like the national media likes the Bengals more than a lot of their own fans.

Given how quickly most experts like to jump off the bandwagon after a bad game... this seems promising. I was especially impressed with John Clayton's refusal to over-react (which he almost always does).

Clayton thinks injuries caught up to the Bengals last Sunday in the Patriots’ 38-13 rout

The National media usually isn't willing to make excuses for a team's poor play, unless they really believe it was an aberration. Not that the national media is always right... they're not. But they also don't usually make bold predictions and stake their reputations on teams that aren't pretty damn decent.

I don't want to deprive anyone of their right to be worriers. That's part of being a fan... but I find the national media's loyalty to our team despite the piss-poor performance to be quite reassuring that we are indeed an impressive team. Who Dey baby?!!
