HoosierCat Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking...2006&week=5espn only drops us to 7. Pretty generous, IMHO, given how flatened we got... Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 3, 2006 Author Report Posted October 3, 2006 PFW stays on the bandwagon, only drops Ciny to 3...http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFL+Z.../rankings05.htm Quote
agreen_112 Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 7's fair.Indy, Pats, Chicago, Baltimore, and Philly are all looking better than the Bengals. I don't know about the Seahawks though, that's hard to say. Quote

Tasher Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 I only dropped us to 4th in my rankings! Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Yep, right now, 7th sounds about right - 10 is a bit drastic. I do think the Bengals are going to come out pretty focused and ticked off vs TB though - and no one on the opposition is going to want that.As bad as they looked Sunday, you don't beat KC and Pitt on the road because you suck. The NE game was within reach until the 4th quarter when they basically gave up due to the turnovers. Nor can I see Carson having two bad games in a row like that - he's too good, rust/knee or not.Gonna be a long bye week.... Quote

Stripes Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 I can't wait to hear what Dr. Z has to say after putting the Bengals at #1 last week. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I still hate these, but another crappy performance against the Bucs and I would guess a pretty big drop... Then again, I really don't care...WHODEY !!! Quote
derekshank Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 It seems like the national media likes the Bengals more than a lot of their own fans.http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=5564Given how quickly most experts like to jump off the bandwagon after a bad game... this seems promising. I was especially impressed with John Clayton's refusal to over-react (which he almost always does).Clayton thinks injuries caught up to the Bengals last Sunday in the Patriots’ 38-13 routThe National media usually isn't willing to make excuses for a team's poor play, unless they really believe it was an aberration. Not that the national media is always right... they're not. But they also don't usually make bold predictions and stake their reputations on teams that aren't pretty damn decent.I don't want to deprive anyone of their right to be worriers. That's part of being a fan... but I find the national media's loyalty to our team despite the piss-poor performance to be quite reassuring that we are indeed an impressive team. Who Dey baby?!! Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I'm hoping what we saw Sunday was just a "bad game" kind of thing where no one could get it together, because if it wasn't, then we are f*cked !!!WHODEY !!! Quote
