Once the Siberia of NFL media coverage, the Bengals have scored their second Sports Illustrated cover in just a few months with the magazine featuring Cincinnati’s 28-20 victory in Pittsburgh last Sunday.

Headlined “The NFL’s Nastiest Rivalry: Bengals crunch Steelers,” staff writer Tim Layden says the Bengals “set themselves up as top cats in the NFL’s toughest division.”

Quarterback Carson Palmer made the cover during the summer for his rehab from reconstructive knee surgery. This time linebacker Caleb Miller makes it with his hit on Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward.

The Oct. 2 issue is scheduled to hit newsstands Wednesday.

Marvin says he's backing up all three LB positions, so that might explain the seeming increase in playing time.
