Bengalbob
Here's the Bengals.com post . . .Perry shelved; Braham, Jackson out SundayBy GEOFF HOBSONSeptember 20, 200612:55 p.m.The worst fears were realized Wednesday when Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis ruled out center Rich Braham, safety Dexter Jackson, and wide receiver Tab Perry for Sunday’s game in Pittsburgh. He also said Perry, the club’s kick returner, would be on crutches for “a few weeks,” and said recently activated rookie receiver Reggie McNeal could return kicks.Lewis also said that left tackle Levi Jones is probable and that wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh is questionable.http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=5509
derekshank
Damn. A hip injury that will have him on crutches for a few weeks? Sounds like Bo Jackson. With Tab out... we really need Housh back. I doubt McNeal will be the quality kick-returner that Tab has been, but that's not the end of the world either. I just like Tab a lot, and will miss seeing him out there. It's a good thing we've got so much WR depth... because we've had to make good use out of it here in the first 3 weeks. CBin2k7
That has to be one serious heel injury that TJ has, he's been pretty much hurt since he got hurt in the Green Bay game. Does anyone know what type of injury it is?I wonder who will replace Tab on special teams. Tab was doing a great job on covering punts, I wouldn't expect McNeal to step right in for Tab on punt coverage.
agreen_112
Yes we do have a lot of depth at WR, but when you have two guys go down, all the sudden we aren't that deep anymore. Hopefully Tab will be back in 3 weeks, but those hip injuries can become a bit of a bitch.
skyline
I'm most concerned about TJ. I want him back!
ShulaSteakhouse
Really need Levi back right now - KW and Henry are picking up the slack there quite nicely in the interim. They can live without Perry.Reggie McNeal - it's your time to shine my man.

He deveoped avascular necrosis of the femoral head(after corrective surgery if memory serves). This can result from trauma, corticosteroid use, and other diseases, but is unlikely to occur as long as he keeps off it for a few weeks. In Bo's case, I think he didn't remain non-weight bearing, then had the surgery to try to fix the problem, and that confirmed he had progressed to avascular necrosis. So it sounds like they are doing the right thing to help prevent this from developing with Tab by having him on crutches.

Stripes
That sure is a long injury report. Yikes.I think we'll be fine though... My biggest worry was Levi, and it looks like he'll be back. K-dub has been fine in T.J.'s stead so far, but the offensive line has seemed a little out of sync with pass blocking. ArmyBengal
My biggest worry is still D. Jackson... One crappy twist of the knee of or a poorly positioned hit (Pollack) by Madieu and we have the safties of last year minus OhIsuckalote. This doesn't thrill me in the least.WHODEY !!! HairOnFire
They've got enough left to beat the Steelers. Granted, it may not turn out that way, but this is a better Bengal team than last year and they're going to be seriously motivated for about a million reasons...not the least of which is if the Bengals can gut out this win they'll put the Steelers in a deep early hole. After that it's the Pat's and a much needed bye week. M*A*S*H the Steelers
schweinhart
So long as the Bengals got their Gunslinger, it's a ballgame. And Madieu on patrol makes a world of difference. The depth is for real with players who've already notched their belts. This is not too far from being decimated by injuries but not so severe that the Bengals should lose to a lesser team like the Steelers.Bengals 27Steelers

The only things that I can imagine would be a bone bruise, a bone spur, or plantar fasciitis. If he strained it somehow in the GB game I'd guess it fasciitis, but he doesn't fit that profile. (no, I'm not a Dr., just had friends/relatives that have had these issues).

Tasher
This can't be good...http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=5516Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who spent Thursday’s lunch hour putting inserts into his cleats in an effort to cushion his injured heel, thinks he’ll play Sunday in Pittsburgh. But then again, he thought he could play last week against the Browns and didn’t. “I don’t know what they are, but I don’t like them,” said Houshmandzadeh, who hasn’t played since injuring the heel Aug. 28 in the preseason game against Green Bay, as he fiddled with his shoes. Houshmandzadeh missed four weeks of his rookie season with an injury in the other heel, but he doesn’t think it’s all that similar. “It has to be different,” he said. “I would have thought it would be OK by now. It will be four weeks next week.” With Tab Perry out, Antonio Chatman probably out, and Chris Henry (groin) limping, the Bengals would more than love to have him. He scored all three of his career touchdowns against the Steelers last season, including a 43-yarder in the 38-31 win at Heinz.
