NYBengalfan Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Some "nice" posts reguarding CJ on Stillers.com"I say we bring in one of our expendables and late hit him. Carter or something. Early on.One good pop hes done. He admitted he can barely raise his arm and hes concussed. If we lose this week...we have serious problems. Bengals are playing at 60%." -Typical of them, can't beat us cleanly, already talking about hurting a key player."Who can stop 85?Brian Rusell. Bengals fans are bitching about it being a helmet to helmet hit, that the ball was uncatchable and Russell's only intention was to hurt CJ, and that there should be a fine, etc etc etc.Funny that when they're the recepient of a bad hit like that, they cry dirty. When they make a controversial hit on Trent Green, everything's clean and tidy. Idiots.I can't tell if it's helmet to helmet. And maybe the ball was uncatchable. It looks like Russell saw the interception, and laid out CJ as a block...not a cheapshot. Either way, it's a beautiful hit and we should keep this gif handy, as well as the vid of The Skunk after the game."-I dont remember any of us saying anything after the game about the hit."I'm in tears from laughing.I think he said "How did Byron do guys?" As in Byron Leftwich. As in the Jags vs us. "-As you can see Steeler fans arent just dumb, they're deaf too!"I think he is saying, "How did Bodden do guys?"Leigh Bodden is the Stains CB who was covering CJ for some of the game. Doesn't matter. CJ is still a p***y. Maybe he should let out his aggression and take another swing at Marvin." - Once again, more ignorance. I am really gonna enjoy beating their ass Sunday."Then that means he FORGOT THE WHOLE GAME.Which means THE BENGALS ARE CLEARLY LYING ON THEIR INJURY REPORT.WHICH MEANS THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION." -......uuuuhh......what???....huh? Sure whatever you say jackass."No doubt it was stat padding. Horrible sportsmanship, and a horrible gamble. I think that any team that gets a lead on Cincy should run up the score as much as possible. This just proves even more that Cincy is a classless team with a classless coach. The Bengals can't gain any respect because they haven't won anything meaningful besides a division title. So they're trying to get noticed by blowing out other teams. You f**king beat the Browns. What type of respect or attention could Marvin Lewis want for that? f**k, just run the ball, eat up the clock, and take home the win. Rudi Johnson had a HUGE game, don't try to tell me that they HAD to pass...it was 3rd and 8, but Rudi had a good a chance as Palmer of getting that first down. And even if they didn't, you're still up by SEVENTEEN.Nothing any Bengals fan says can justify the need to pass that late in the game. Disrespect for the other team, stat padding, and poor sportsmanship. Entire organization has no class. Karma's a bitch.Cincy wants to look tough by beating up a weak team. Let's see how they fare against a real team. "-We know it was stupid to be passing, but these asses just will never admit that we are even a decent team. s**t the whole friggin world knows that we are Super Bowl contenders, except for the Country of Western Pennsylvania( except duus, who is the only human being within the area with a brain. )!!Typical classy Steeler fans. What else do you expect! Quote
duus Posted September 20, 2006 Author Report Posted September 20, 2006 It looks like the unbiased national fanbase likes the Bengals' chances...There were about 13,000 votes in when I copied this.Yep, and now with nearly 30,000 votes, nothing has changed:Cincinnati at Pittsburgh: Who wins?70.3% Cincinnati29.7% PittsburghHere's to hoping the entire NFL fanbase knows more than the Black-N-Urine fanbase ... nothing like setting the bar high!! the whole friggin world knows that we are Super Bowl contenders, except for the Country of Western Pennsylvania( except duus, who is the only human being within the area with a brain. )!!Thanks for reminding me. Once again, another sad day in Pissburgh with the constant realization of being surrounding by complete and utter ignorance. Quote

duus Posted September 20, 2006 Author Report Posted September 20, 2006 What's keeping you there????......work?Nope. I own my own business (software, etc) and work out of my home, so that is not it at all. It's family. My wife grew up here and she has elderly family locally. I'll leave it at that, but I suspect you understand. Quote
duus Posted September 20, 2006 Author Report Posted September 20, 2006 Junker and Crow Show (radio)with interview quotes from: Ed Beuchette, Steelers reporter Merril Hoge, Steelers butt-kisserCaller - "I think Willie Parker is a joke. He makes Amos Zereoue look like a great running back."Crow - "Steelers fans just won't let their brains wrap-around a very simple concept ... sometimes you get beat by a better team."(way too much talk about how high Benji's fever really was ... on and on and on)Beuchette - "You don't bench Brett Favre. You don't bench Troy Aikman."Junker - "You putting Roethlisberger up there with those guys?"Beuchette - "Yeah."I love it. They have this call-in contest for the X caller with the correct answer to a question. Today's question? "How many points did the Steelers score against the Jags." Too funny.Question - "Holmes has bust written all over him. Is he?"Hoge - "Troy Polamalu, in his first year, looked like an absolute debacle." "He is just not a factor on the field with that shoulder, however."Question - "Are they putting Willie Parker in a position to fail?"Hoge - "The offensive line got whipped. In order to beat Jacksonville's defense, your quarterback has to have a great day."Question - "Why did Cowher let Ben start?"Hoge - "You got to play him. The sooner the better. The Bengals have gotten a lot better. They are not the defense they were last year. You've got to take your medicine."Question - "Why wasn't Batch in there at the end?"Hoge - "I would never have done that. Would that really help Ben in the long-term? Would that really help the team in the long-term?"Question -"Might you have a second to ask Merril about his documented Super Bowl pick for this year? In case you were not aware, he picked the Bengals. "Hoge - "I knew I would take some heat for that. The changes they made defensively. The players they have on offense. They have the best quarterback in the game. Whoever gets out of this division as the winner will win it." Quote
NYBengalfan Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Steeler fans: "H'mm Merril Hoge is just as big a Steeler homer as anyone, but because the Bengals have a better team than us he picks the Bengals to win the Super Bowl! Does that make any sense??? Who cares....... Lets kill him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Quote
duus Posted September 20, 2006 Author Report Posted September 20, 2006 Remember last year where we watched this idiot from stillers.com predict every week that the Bengals would lose/not cover?Well, he is sticking with his pattern again:Week 1 - Kansas City (- 2 ½) over Cincinnati – Larry Johnson may run for close to 200 yards in this one. Let’s see just how well Palmer’s knee is in a real game.Week 2 - Cleveland (+ 10 ½) over Cincinnati – Not sure if I was impressed with Cincy last week, disappointed with KC, probably a little of both. I really don’t think Cleveland is as bad as they showed last week, and Cincy starts looking ahead a week, enabling the Brownies to stay close. Can't wait to see what he has to say about Week 3. Quote
NYBengalfan Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Brad Johansen on 970 Pittsburgh:Brad Johansen: "Levi will go be ready to go on Sunday. Ghiaciuc will go, Steiny will be at Guard. Jackson and Braham won't be back 'til bye week. Tab is out with a hip pointer. We pulled up Reggie McNeal, who could potentially be KR.""TJ's heal is real bad, My guess is it will be a gametime decision. We'll get him out on the field and see if he can go." Quote
duus Posted September 20, 2006 Author Report Posted September 20, 2006 Mark Madden interview with John ClaytonMM - "How much will the injuries hurt the Bengals?"JC - "Pollacks injury may not hurt them. I think probably Rich Braham. I think there will be a hole in the middle. They have problems at receiver."MM - "Odell Thurman is out with a drug suspension."JC - "Sam Adams has helped out in stopping the run. But they have a lot of holes."MM - "Palmer looks healthy, but I wouldn't say he has looked dominant."JC - "Agreed. He has been able to get by by being efficient. He realizes that he is not as good athletically as he will be at the end of the season."Concerning how the Bengals got to 2-0 and how good are they ...JC - "The schedule. Kansas City was terrible. I thought there was a chance the Bengals would get off to a 1-3 start. Now this is going to be the real test. The Bengals will be over-confident. That's where homefield advantage and an efficient offense will play a key role." Quote
membengal Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Really? A team missing its starting C, S, 2nd WR perhaps, SSLB and top kick returner will be "over-confident"?I sometimes think Clayton talks just to hear himself talk. And...if he thought they would get off 1-3, then their start has probably annoyed him. Life's a bitch. Quote

And I am still not sure Chad even knows what day it is. But they have the most under-rated runningback in Rudi Johnson. But I think the game means more to the Steelers than the Bengals." Quote
NYBengalfan Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 970 just reported that WPXI 11 Pittsburgh reports that Joey Porter's Pitbulls killed a Horse in Richland Twp.has nothing to do with the game but its the Steelers so what the hell. Quote

duus Posted September 21, 2006 Author Report Posted September 21, 2006 The Fedko Zone sports t.v. show late last nightI wanted to scream and jump into the t.v. The host, John Fedko (a sports reporter in Pissburgh for longer than I have been here ... 15+ years), stops and stares at the camera. He says (and repeats it about 4 times) that Cincinnati is so upset and emotional about the playoff game that he would not be surprised if the coaches have told the defensive players to go after knees. He said he is sure that they have been told to take out Ben even if it requires getting two 15 yard penalties and being thrown out of the game. He repeated this over and over. He told the viewing audience to expect a banged-up Bengal team to come and play as dirty as they had to to 'get revenge'. Of course, he said in the end that the game would end with "an easy Steeler victory ... 28-10."This guy absolutely drove me nuts! I really wish I had the video clip of that 2 minutes of garbage to post for you guys. It was classic Steeler fan junk where they try to push their way of doing things onto the opposing team. Quote
duus Posted September 21, 2006 Author Report Posted September 21, 2006 Junker and Crow show starts off with audio from the 'we dey' thing in the Steelers lockerroom after the playoff game.J&C then make fun of Marvin Lewis for showing the video to get them fired up. Junker - "If he needs to do that, then they are in trouble. I think it's bush-league."They then joke about someone apparently sending a picture of a hat to Cowher and staff where the 'Bengals hat' had the words 'gonna arrest next?' below the words 'Who Dey'.In reference to the recent story about a Shenango Valley (just outside of Pissburgh) HS football player father who apparently was caught impersonating a college scout and did so in an attempt to tape the practice of the opponent: Caller suggests that perhaps someone should head to Cincinnati to tape the Bengals practice, telling Marvin Lewis he is a parole officer. (actually, to be honest, this one made me laugh ... fairly original thought ... for a Pissburgher) Quote
duus Posted September 21, 2006 Author Report Posted September 21, 2006 Farrior - "We cannot let him sit back there and read our defense. We will try to get Carson to move around and get him out of the pocket so he is forced to throw on the run."Some interesting numbers:Willie-or-wont-he Parker - 2006, 2 games - 40 carries, 135 yards (one of which accounted for 32 yards) ... do the math.3 games last year between these two teams ... Benji 14 passes (Bengals loss), 41 passes (Bengals win), 19 passes (Bengals loss)Add these two things together and the recipe sure seems to be keep Willie in check and allow Benji to pass. If Willie goes 20 for 50 and Benji passes 25-30 times ... we win. Quote

duus Posted September 21, 2006 Author Report Posted September 21, 2006 A few more quotes from the Junker and Crow radio show (with a couple local sports writers, whose names I couldn't catch):"They had a chance to be up 10-0. Two touchdowns is plenty with this defense.""Cincinnati is ripe for a loss with the injuries. I think they will lose their share.""Cincinnati is pretty banged-up and we need to take advantage of that."Q - "If you had to pick a quarterback on your team between Ben Roethlisberger or Carson, who would you take?""I'll take Ben because he moves around little bit. The mobility factor ... Roethlisberger slightly.""I will take Ben. Ben can beat you more ways than Palmer can.""If I am Kevin Colbert, I take Roethlisberger. If I want lots of yards and touchdowns, I take Carson Palmer." (huh? ... touchdowns? ... who wants those?) Quote
duus Posted September 21, 2006 Author Report Posted September 21, 2006 From Joey Porter (quote is as accurate as I could catch it ... he said something about making the qb win the game, but I couldn't get the exact words so I left that out):"We need to take away the run. We need to put the game in the quarterback's hands and see what he can do." Quote
