ChadJohnson-85
I dont think we'll need TJ or Levi when we play the brown stains. Rudis gonna run all over them dumb @$$es.! Who Dey!!!
tsh2006
but it would be nice to have a reciever like TJ in there blocking because Rudi wants to break some long ones and it won't happen if Rudi doesn't get great blocking and we all know that Chad is not a good run blocker. I've actually been impressed with the blocking we get from most of our receivers. KW always gives good effort in that way, I've seen Henry throw blocks that resulted in TD's a couple occasions, and Tab Perry might be the best blocking WR we have. We'll be fine. The thing we're missing when T.J. isn't in there is Palmer's favorite 3rd down target. Last year it hurt us because Kevin Walter was the guy who filled those shoes when Housh wasn't available, and that was one of the reasons we lost to Jacksonville. But against a bad team like Tennessee, we still came out on top.Last week Tab Perry showed he can fill those shoes better than Walter did, and we beat a pretty decent Chiefs team. I'm sure we can handle the Browns at home without Housh. We need him 100% against Pitt... because last year he caught 12 passes for 163 yards and 2 TD's. He always ups his game against them. HoosierCat
Whoa. Whitworth to get his first start for the oft-injured Levi and TJ has also been downgraded.I sure as hell hope this is precautionary and not lingering injuries that will go on for weeks.I worry about what's really wrong with TJ at this point (achilles?).Yeah, don't we all. But your anti-Levi bias is showing again. Levi hasnt been ruled yet, and as for the "oft-injured" tag, if he does sit it would be only the 3rd career game he's missed. Housh, meanwhile, would miss his 22nd career game; in fact TJ has only played a full season 2 years out of his 6 so far. So who's "oft-injured?" (Hint: it ain't Levi.) ArmyBengal
Henry is a lock at #3 and will say many expected more from the entire offense as a whole last week and were pleasantly suprised by the defense. I kind of expect that to be close, but with a little more from the O this time around. What I'm hoping for is keeping these guys out is just ensuring they are reasy to go when we face the Pats and the Steelers in the coming weeks. All in all, we should still be able to put it on the Browns Sunday as long as the depth behind these two DOES THEIR JOB as Marvin says !!!WHODEY !!! Jonboat
Damn , I was hoping TJ would be back this week but we'll be Ok there with the depth at WR. I'm more concerned about Levi not playing. I watched Clev in the preseason & Wimbley is for real he can be blocked , due to his size , if you can get your hands on him but I don't like having a rookie protecting Palmers blind side. I agree with DPM I'd feel better if they slide Stienbach over to tackle with Whitworth inside. I'm not knocking Whitworth I just think he may be a little inexperienced & hasn't seen enough as far as the speed teams have & schemes they use in real gametime situations to trust him in protecting Palmers blindside. Stripes
I don't think the Browns secondary is really that bad. Bodden is underrated, and McCutcheon was on and off. He'll be out, and I don't know anything about his replacement. Both of the safeties are young and talented, but mistake proned. It's probably the worst secondary in the AFC North, but still is better than many.I think it's their front seven that needs the most work. The linebackers are entirely unimpressive, and the line is horrible. It's too early to know what to expect from Ted Washington, but the ends are both crap.I expect Rudi to run all over the Browns just as he has in recent seasons, even if Levi isn't in there. We'll be able to overpower them on the line of scrimmage with our depth on the offensive line. This might be another game in which Carson doesn't throw the ball as much as usual. I certainly expect more than 19 passes this week, but I wouldn't be surprised if he only threw 25 or so.
HairOnFire
Pure speculation from my chair, but Henry's disappointing performance against the Chiefs may have been a result of his head not being entirely in the game or the week of practices leading up to the game. After all, things were finally coming to a close in regards to the most serious charge against him. His disappearance could have been a result of the factors already listed or the fairly predictable result of a young player not handling outside pressure as well as we all hoped. I'm not sure how to feel about TJ's lingering ding. Heel injuries ususally aren't serious but they're often slow to heal. More than once I've seen where a player has to accept that it's not going to feel right for months and learn to play through the pain. Last, I've got mixed feelings about where Whitworth should line up, but the depth he provides underscores why I liked the last draft. Remember the first impressions that speculated that none of these guys would play much this season? Joseph, Whitworth, Peko are getting very early tests...and looking good. Best draft ever? Whitworth was a great pick, that's allready paying off.
