walzav29
This guy has looked great. He has looked better than any other running back. I'm not saying he is better than Rudi, but he looks to me how Chris Perry should look if he didn't get hurt every year. Rudi is the man, but I say De-De should be the 2nd string running back. Remember they used to say that Rudi only ran for alot of yards against the teams 2nd strings. Jim Anderson knows running backs and I hope this guy make it. sparky151
I think Dorsey has played well enough to make the practice squad. With Perry probably starting the season on PUP, Dorsey might have a chance to beat out Wilson for a regular roster spot. The main concern would be his blitz pickups and passing game responsibilities. If Carson can't audible to a pass play when Dorsey is on the field, that would limit the offense.
Jonboat
I like Dorsey too & also want to see him make the team but 2nd string? I think that may be jumping the gun a bit we've only seen him in 2 preseason games & I don't think he has played with the 1rst string. You have to figure Watson who is more than capable when healthy & Wilson has the upper hand due to experience. I think they'll find a way to keep him & if Perry gets' PUP'd I'd imagine it will make it easier & give Dorsey an opportunity to work his way up the depth chartBTW what's up with Watson I haven't heard much about him lately? BTG
Anyone remember that Miami of Ohio running back from about 10 years ago who was just KILLING teams in the preseason and ended up blowing out his knee in one of the last exibition games? What was his name? It was Miami's last big running back before Prentice.Ah, I think his initials were DM or DC. I know his first name began with a D. Deland McCulough. Wraith
Because they feel that Rudi, Perry and Watson are better? De De may have a reprieve because of Perry's injury.
ArmyBengal
Because without him going against anything more than 3rd string players, you can never get an accurate read on how that translates against 1st teamers. I want to see him get some carries against the 1st teamers then I would be willing to believe this UDFA will be anything more than a PS player... I am rooting for him though, that's for sure !!!WHODEY !!!
DC_Bengals_Fan
#1. Rudi was a pre-season superstar#2. Perry has never been a pre-season superstar. And Rudi was one of the few that actually translated that into regular-season success. For every one Rudi I could show you 5 guys on any team every year who look like studs in the preseason and can't hack it in the regular season. R-U-D-I
Side note, I went to Miami with Deland. He's now a principle of a alternative school in Cincinnati.Back to topic. There is a preseason wonder every year, aka Broussard, ussually there's a good reason they weren't drafted...
Wraith
I am willing to give this kid a break he was a safety until last year and his first year as a RB he busted out for 1600+ yards admittedly it was a NAIA school. His lack of experience and his playing for a REAL smal school is more than enough reason to not draft him, there are been numerous players coming out of small schools that have translated into super-stardom at the NFL level (TO from Tennessee-Chattanooga, Joe Greene from North Texas State, Michael Strahan from Texas Southern, Ken Anderson from Augustana, Phil Simms from Morehead State are a few examples) in todays media blitz NFL Draft players from small schools are more likely to be overlooked than ever IMHO and a player from Lindenwood College with one year playing experience at the position has no shot. SkinneymulleT
this dude is fast, in an effortless sort of way, fluid, has great vision and can catch. He will be a good player somewhere, if not here.

markymark69
I like what Dorsey has done, but if Perry gets healthy I think Dorsey either goes to the practice squad or gets caught in a numbers game. Personally, I think they would take Quincy Wilson over him. I'm not saying that's what I would do, but the coaching staff seems to be leaning that way, IMO.If Perry is hurt, Dorsey has to beat out Wilson, if Perry is not placed on the PUP list then Dorsey likely goes to Practice Squad, IMO. Kirkendall
Kenny Watson gets WAY more love than he should here. What has he done to make us think he's earned a roster spot? If anything HE should be on the PS or cut. He's done nothing compared to Wilson and Dorsey.
TJJackson
Err, Kirk? Kenny Watson gets love (and is due love) for several reasonsHe is * a polished blocker* an excellent receiver* a better than average special teams player* a good blend of younth and experience - 4th year, eligible for UFA in 2007* productive - he has two 100 yard games to his credit (albeit for Marvin's redskins team) and in 2004 his yards per carry was over 6. I'd argue he is not on the field ENOUGH - but then again, you know how I feel about Two Carry Perry
Kirkendall
I don't think his production warrents the praise he's getting. We went 11-4 last year WITHOUT him and I don't remember any threads saying, "we miss Watson". It prevents honest looks with Dorsey and Wilson. That, plus is Watson durable enough for a full season? Has his injury from last season degraded your points at all?All I'm asking is he prove his worth for a roster spot. One injured season and lack of activity in two pre-season games, to me, isn't worthy of a roster spot -- including a few passing plays he was blown up on while trying to protect Wright. (although he did have a nice pancake too!)
TJJackson
The comments you don't recall last year were made by me several times. Yes, if a back averages 6 yards a carry, I miss him, 11-5 record notwithstanding. No worries tho - my wife dismisses my comments all the time, why should you be any different?I think Watson is getting less time on the field because they already know what they have in Watson. Wilson and Dorsey are auditioning. Watson is NOT auditioning, he's just getting some get-ready-for-the-season work. They need to give Wilson and Dorsey more snaps as they know less about them. ArmyBengal
I want to see them get their shot against the 1st teamers and work with our starting o-line. Watson gets over based on past "production" and I also wouldn't get bent out of shape if he were cut. I'm not irritated by him like I am with K-Wash and KK, but I just don't see all the experience he supposedly possesses show up often enough to by satisfied. Call me silly...WHODEY !!! ShulaSteakhouse
I can't imagine Dorsey won't be picked up by someone if he's wavied or sent to the PS. Maybe he won't be, but someone will have injury problems and see those preseason films of him. He's making it tough on the coaches here, no one thought much of Willie Parker either.DeDe's no Jamal Broussard. Kazkal
With all RB problems this year he'd be picked up. but may be better for him if he goes somewhere else.
