Spor_tees
I have looked on Bengals.com and have not found anything about Bauman's injury. It looked pretty serious during the game and he was pretty upset. If it is a ligament tear and he is done for the season, who do you think takes his place on the roster as the special teams ace? Kilmer, Indiana Jones, Busing, ect?I personally think this leaves the opportunity for a guy like Jeanty to make the team for sure...and maybe to solidify the Bengals keeping some other LB's they would have either let go or put on the practice squad. HairOnFire
The Bauman injury is potentially a big deal. I thought he played pretty well last season and he was said to be having a great camp. The loss of Bauman, or any dime CB for that matter, won't make many headlines, but I think it's a serious blow to the Bengals suddenly impressive depth at CB. Replacement? Hard to predict, but if he were ever healthy I'd give the nod to Greg Brooks...a player who I thought was a steal when the Bengals got him cheaply. Hasn't really turned out that way, but he USED to have very solid man coverage skills. Not very physical though. (Sort of Robert Bean-ish.) Stripes
I'd go with Patrick Body.
rishipatel
It's a patella tendon tear. I think he's done for the season.
KiLBurn
Can Reggie McNeal play DB
DontPushMe
Dime? Not a big deal, Joseph will play dime, unless he beats out ratliff for nickel. All this does is make the #5 CB spot more open. Its either Body or Brooks, just by them being the only 2 left. I personally prefer Body, good on special teams, and has a high ceiling if he develops his cornerback skills. Or they might just keep an extra safety, like Jones, Kilmer, or Busing. Because KK and Madieu can play corner, though I doubt many of us want to see that happening.
ArmyBengal
I don't really see this as a huge problem unless injuries hit us badly. I see Joseph beating out Ratliff for the nickel and Ratliff can play dime. Ratliff is becoming my new KK quickly. In the terms of not liking him !!!WHODEY !!! ShulaSteakhouse
Actually I like Brooks' man-coverage ability and the fact he has looked better than Body frankly when he's healthy. Obviously the problem is he can't stay healthy. But there is no huge different between them obviously, and yes Brody's ST potential may edge Brooks out.Brooks should get some time Monday night finally - they are holding onto him because they know he's a find at CB. Body does not possess his coverage skills. Busing is an interesting player - plays like a LB at S and has the size to back it up - would like to see more of him.Kilmer would be a good NFL Europe project. membengal
Isn't this where someone is supposed to suggest moving Tab Perry to the defensive backfield???
Stripes
Isn't this where someone is supposed to suggest moving Tab Perry to the defensive backfield???Hopefully our secondary depth has evolved enough to avoid that sort of stupid even with a season ending injury.
