clarett heading for major stint in the lockup

Recommended Posts

Sounds like he would be a great Bengal....I said that before a Steeler fan could so dont say it now Squeeler fans :bengal:

I've been hearing this most the day on the radio..."Marvin Lewis is on the phone trying to get Clarett signed".

After Ohio State won the 2002 National Champion ship, I had the front cover of the Sporting News that showed Maurice scoring the game winning TD. I am now conflicted as to whether to keep it hanging on a wall or take it down and store it in some dusty, dark room.

It is sad to see someone with so much promise fall so far. I am embarrassed that he is a Buckeye.

i don't think he will get that much time maybe a year or 2 . my step father was arrested for pretty much the same thing he was caught driving around drunk with a sawed off 12 gauge after firing it at some guys that try to jump him . it was not his first time in prison ether and all he got was a year . and it was in Columbus and the same courts that clarett is being prosecuted in .

I feel sorry for the guy. I remember him being touted in high school just like Lebron.

While i haven't changed my stance on Henry, Clarett makes me think of something I haven't thought of before. Imagine the pressure that's put on these guys at such a young age. They become the next whatever, are supposed to be thier family saviors, and have been told how great they are since pee wee, and probably had the rules broken for them a million times. It'd be easy to get a major sense of entitlement that way. They have is so good, sometimes they can't or don't know how to handle adversity. That's pressure anyone might crack under.

Hell, you can go to a website to find out who the best fifth grade player in the country is.

So, while I still have my same conviction on Henry, I can at least understand a lottle better.

Did you guys read the update on this, where he apparently got in trouble with an Israeli mafia member in LA - took a car, $ and a Malibu beachfront home as advances for his NFL contract with the Broncos?

Apparently there's mafia connections going back to his home in Youngstown, from where he hails, which is famous for it's mafia connections.

He was carrying weapons and wearing the vest due to threats he and his lawyer were receiving from the Israeli mafia folks. He apparently owes a few people a lot of money.

I feel better about his situation knowing this - don't think I've ever seen a guy accept such bad advice and fall in with the wrong people to the extent he has.

Wow.

Yeah, Shula... Sportscenter talked about it some... Said he possibly owed money to a high profile organized crime character in L.A. after getting a free car, but couldn't repay it after flopping with the Broncos. Sounds like National Enquirer kind of drama, but Clarett is just stupid enough to make it believable.
