walshfan
so it will make many of you happy if a 7th rounder signs?....sigh....
sparky151
Signing the 7th rounders won't make me happy but not having them signed makes me unhappy in that it indicates how far behind the curve the team is. We've wasted a lot of time this summer that could have been used to get things done.
Spor_tees
The Bengals never want to be the first to get rookie contracts done because they want to wait til other teams sign their players, so that the Bengals can "slot" them. By signing players first the Bengals take the chance of over paying a player and there is no way on God's green earth that Mikey-boy would ever do that! kingwilly
...wouldn't have anything to do with the complications and delay surrounding figuring out how to add "in the event you get your sorry aZZ arested" clauses to all the contracts...nope. this is not a distraction in the least. move along. nothing to see here. HoTbOy
I would at least like to see JJoseph signed, since they said he was looking real good in mini-camp...and how he was giving KRatliff a run for the nickel corner...
ArmyBengal
Joseph would be nice, but to tell you the truth, I'd like to see the rookie LB's done in order to get them in there and start learning as soon as possible with all the concern over Odell. Joseph would be nice though !!!WHODEY !!!
Ox
I'm just curious... I wonder if Brooks will be inked before everyone but Joseph? With all the hype surrounding this guys talent, I wouldn't be suprised.

With all the hype surrounding this guys talent, I wouldn't be suprised.I wouldn't be surprised either. He's in the most urgent position to get signed and find a place on the team, being a supplemental pick and all. It depends on how he deals with his agent though, like all the other rooks. The_Next_Big_Thing
By the way, what makes you think that none of our picks have signed? Just because nothing has been released doesn't mean that people don't have deals done and the Bengals have decided to time the release of the signings on their schedule. It wouldn't be a first! However, that doesn't mean the Bengals aren't known for holding back info. Agents can be convinced to keep signings out of the press, if it suits their clients. rishipatel
Hi all...long time reader, first time poster. I think that it's highly likely that progress has been made on at least some of the rookie signings. Although I'm not sure that I buy the idea that anyone has actually been signed already and that the bengals are keeping it a big secret. The management surely would have wanted some "positive" headlines to dampen the blow of all the law-breaking headlines. Even though it would not have changed the national media perspective, the fans and media in Cinci would have had something good to focus on.That said, I think that we need to remember that most teams don't have their picks signed due the the impact of the new CBA and that in the case of the bengals, its not vital to get them signed early since none are projected to be starters. Also, we obviously were focusing on signing Levi since that news broke today, and now we'll get some of the rookies done. Hobson's article today mentions that Joseph is close to signing. All in all, we're going to be fine. The glass is half full. We're finally a good team after so many years in the cellar.
