The Marvin Factor continues to multiply later this summer when Marvin Lewis becomes the first NFL head coach to get his own replica jersey.

The brainchild of Monty Montague, the Bengals merchandise manager, the black jersey will have the number “03,” signifying his first season in Cincinnati and a nameplate of “M. Lewis.”

Montague said Wednesday he expects the jerseys to go on sale some time in August both in the Pro Shop at Paul Brown Stadium and online at Bengals.com

Am I crazy for thinking this is cool?

IMO I think it's cool for the coach to have his own jersey. Is his number 3.....? :o:lol:

I like Marvin...but this is a stretch. What is next, a replica Sideline headset to talk to an imaginary coordinator in the booth.

I'd rather buy a S. Graham jersey.

I hope this thread isnt going to turn into a WE HATE MARVIN thread just because he has his own jersey.

I don't know, I'd sure like to get one, he's really good at drafting character players. Ah ah ah ah! Just kidding my little Bungaloids.

I'd probably by a Crennel jersey if they had them.

Seeing as how the coaches don't wear jerseys, I'm having a hard time seeing this as anything more than an opportunity for the organization to make more money. Come up with something else if you want to recognize the coach, but IMHO, I think it sucks !!!

You mean I can get a replica headset! :excited:

Merchandising is right.

Hey, look at it this way -- the much-maligned Bengals marketing department has finally devised an original way to drum up a few more bucks.

Next, they can sell limited edition Mike Brown temporary a$$ tatoos with a picture of Mike and a caption that reads, "Market THIS, Jerry Jones!"

I don't understand why anyone would buy a jersey for a coach?

It is to celebrate the day that Mike Brown pulled his head out of his a** and hired a real coach and allow him to run the team. The hiring of Marvin the Great should be glorified as a hollowed day in Bengaldom and a jersey set aside to celebrate this world turning event. All who share in the joy of this glorious event should wear the jersey proudly with puffed out chest.

All I know is Frostee Rucker, AJ Nicholson and their agents ought to be first in line to buy a jersey as some sort of outward display of thanks for ML's largesse in signing off on their being drafted despite their bent toward criminality.

I also demand that the next time Henry is arrested (should be any day now) he be wearing a Lewis jersey instead of his own, just so he remembers who to call to bail him out...

Got it, but a jersey ?? When was the last time you saw a coach wearing a jersey on the side line ?? This is the type of thing t-shirts are great for and then I would probably be more receptive to it. God knows Marvin's hiring has been nothing but good for the team and the city, but a jersey ?? That's like saying, as a way to honor the milkman for delivering the milk (I know they don't anymore, just follow along) we are going to brand the dairy cows with the likeness of the milkman. Who cares ?? Money hungry b*tches !!!

I think Marvin should try it during a game, amybe he can sneak on the field :P

He should try it though. If I remember correctly, they wouldn't let Mike Nolan(Niners) wear a suit and tie last year. Some rule states you gotta wear something with that NFL logo on it.(more merchanizing)

That would be awesome! I wonder how many of our crime commiters would keep up the bad work if they had to report to an enraged head coach wearing full pads and a helmet afterwords.

Things have changed in the past year, haven't they, Brownsfan? Remember the good old days (last summer) when you actually had something meaningful to mock? These days, we blow a few draft picks and our enemies are the ones who care the most.
