derekshank Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 McNeal still thinks he is playing QB.No, WR's can take numbers in the 10's as well. It just means he intentionally took a number that allows him to line up in different spots. He was probably told to do this so we can be tricky with him without drawing a penalty. Quote
GROIIIDayton Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 Thanks for the update Derek but he could line up where ever they wanted him to with a number in the 80's also. I was just joking anyway I thought maybe Chris Henry was playing QB too. Quote
Kazkal Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 Kilmer: 43Welcome Safety 4 or CB 5Peko should have got 69 his old number backwords + when he lines up next too fanene Quote
HairOnFire Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 McNeal: 10 (interesting choice....) True, but McNeal getting #15 would have been even more interesting. Quote

I was just joking anyway I thought maybe Chris Henry was playing QB too.Actually he would have to check in with the ref before the play if he wanted to line up at QB. This would give away any trickyness of such activity. Having a number in the 10's gives him the ability to move from WR to QB right before the snap, catching the defense off guard. Quote

I thought that was just for linemen. I've seen direct snaps to RB's without mention of having to check in. In fact I think PDub lined up at QB a couple of years ago and ran a play off-tackle. I've never heard of someone having to check in to play QB but I may be wrong. Quote
Kazkal Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 Aye and diden't hines or randle el get direct snap where big ben fa ked getting itEstandia, Greg is number 45 (damn wanted him be 89 )Only UDFA I care about so not gonna post the rest Quote

Kazkal Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 wonder if they gave him a number in the 80's because plan playing more where 40's like trial TE number PS,Cut tony now so Estandia can have his college number Quote
HoosierCat Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 Speaking of rookie numbers, the rookie pool allocations are out. The Bengals' rookie pool is just a bit less than $3.7 million. Quote
rwalling Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 So much for Kilmer being a wide receiver. If he looks like a safety, and hits like a safety, chances are he's a... Quote
Kazkal Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 perk of him a safety is he trains on defense so his tackling doesn't go down hill Quote
