Go Redlegs indeed. I hope the pitching can maintain this sort of success consistently... Hell, if we can take two of these next three games against the Astros and Cardinals, then we'll be 19-8 (let's go for the 20-7 though!). After that, we hit the road to face two bad teams in Colorado and Arizona... If we take 2/3 in each of those series, we'll be 23-10 (depending on what happens with the other three games previously mentioned). Even if this team isn't built to last, if we can get far enough over .500 early, we might be in business.

This is a good sign of the potential of this season's Red's. I hope they can keep this up and continue to build on this success. I hate it when the playoffs come around and you only hear about the Yanks and Sox's! I have really grown to really hate both franchises.

Just to let you know, I have been on board since the day's of the Big Red Machine and never once jumped off. GO CINCY!!!

I love the fact that this team is beating Houston and St Louis, in 99 they were absolutely lights out against St Louis and Houston going a cominbed 17-8. Now if only they could have beaten Milwaukee one more time, that would have been a playoff team.

There are a lot of similarities between the way that team played and the way this team is currently playing.

4 outta 5 is certainly awesome. I honestly expected us to lose 3 or 4 of those games. The next challenge will be beating the best teams like those two on the road, when we next face them. I think we can do it.

For now, it's two easy series against the Rockies and Diamondbacks. Let's hope we don't see a letdown. I really think this team is easily capable of taking at least 4 of those 6, and really they should get 5 or 6 of 'em.

The Rockies are kinda in the same boat as the Reds. Last time I noticed they were in 1st place to, so I not going to say they will be so easy to beat. But poor ole AZ. man they been down sence there W/S days.

No doubt, considering the shutout they handed us last night. Still, we continued to pitch well, and that's all that matters to me in the long run.

No doubt. But a little offense never hurts and I read somewhere that they are on some ludicrious pace for HRs.

Always fun when the Reds are doing well -- I finally get to tell all the yankee fans up here to shove it! (And yeah they're still pissed about '76  )

They were hitting home runs left and right the first few weeks of the season, but have slowed down lately. They've started to look like a real baseball team... Pitching well, hitting with runners in scoring position, sacrifice bunts, loads of stolen bases... I love it. :D

Always fun to see the Yankees playing average baseball considering their payrole though. :sure:

Yeah, I got a buddy who is a big Yankees fan -- and I mean big as in his condo is decorated with Yankees stuff and when they lose he basically needs prozac! And I love needling him, but as you might have noticed that's just the sort of d*ck I am .

Good pitching + small ball. I'm a big fan of that formula. Everyone loves the home run hitters, but I'll take a guy who can lay down a perfect bunt every time. 1990 Reds were all about that, and that was a fun team to watch.
