Hopefully Whitner along with one of the five corners that could go in the first (Cromartie, Williams, Hill, Joseph, Jennings), Pope, Lewis, Watson....I could go on.

This is the first time in several years that I have no freaking clue who they're thinking of taking.

Then again, last year they surprised me with Pollack. The year before that they shocked me with Perry. And two years before that, they threw Levi Jones out there which resulted in me making a face like someone in the room had just farted (of course, it ended up being a good choice).

Now that I think about it, the only time in the last five years that I've correctly picked who the Bengals were taking they selected Carson Palmer. Then again, that wasn't exactly a surprise to anyone, eh? :)

I guess there's a reason I don't do a mock draft for ESPN....

I'd really like to see them land Whitner, though, and I REALLY hope they don't take a tight end in the first.

The pick must be defense.

It could be DE, LB or CB. I don't see a S or DT.

Kiwi, Lawson or Cromartie will be my highest rated guys based on who I project to go before 24.

The hazard here now is that given Mario going 1, Lawson may fly up..by association.

Sims may be dropping due to all the concussions and I would shy from a guy with brain-fog.

I'd prefer not to reach for a guy...like a Carpenter or Greenway...in fact I kind of feel set at LB....

DE and CB are the real thin areas...Cromartie or another guy up there would not surprise, or disappoint me....Hill is a bit short though...

I just keep looking at the Bengals' roster. There are 3 slots they didn't fill, or fill completely, in FA: at TE (Schobel's spot), DL (lost Powell and Clemons, added Adams) and S (lost Herring and Ohalete, added Jackson).

So you have to believe that they plan to fill those slots today and tomorrow.

Of the 3 positions in this year's draft, I think the talent dropoff between what they could get at 24, versus in the second or third, is probably steepest at TE. Against my better judgment, I'm actually starting to warm to the idea of Marcedes Lewis. But we shall see.
