jjakq27
http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...120334/1062/SPT The NFL has banned local news crews from filming game action. The locals are crying foul.
Stripes
I didn't see in that article any reasons for the NFL banning this. Anyone know? Doesn't seem to me like there'd be anything to gain.
The_Next_Big_Thing
The NFL is saying the sidelines are "too crowded". The REAL reason is they WANT the local stations to suffer. They WANT NFL Network to be your only source for coverage.By the time the most recent television contracts expire, they will probably refuse to let ESPN or anyone else broadcast the primetime games at all. You will have to have NFL Network.
Larry
Doesn't ESPN own part of that NFL network. I thought that how they got Rich?

Stripes
I can understand the NFL profiting from this, but didn't the local stations already have to pay some good money to have a spot on the sidelines in the first place? This just seems like a prick move by the NFL.
The_Next_Big_Thing
Go figure, a certain asshat downtown is looking into whether the NFL can legally bar the press from the sidelines....
HairOnFire
I'll gladly lend my support in favor of anything Todd Portune is against.
BengalszoneBilly
Go figure, a certain asshat downtown is looking into whether the NFL can legally bar the press from the sidelines....Snifffffffffffffffffff! Mmm, I smell litigation in the air, and if so, I doubt this will be settled anytime soon. My feeling is the NFL is starting to get a wee bit too pushy. C'mon, what the hell are they allegedly losing by allowing the local sports crew do interviews and some limited live shots here and there?NFL really does stand for the No Fun League! NJ29
The NFL sucks.
Dan2330
Typical NFL... next the photographers will be banned, then hey why were at it no fans with cameras allowed- make sure to have security check that no one has one of these cell phone cameras....I like the local guys because a lot of times you get different shots and crowd shots that the networks are not going to carry and ESPN only shows the 'quicky' plays from most games. Stripes
Well I was against this measure until I realized I was siding with Todd.
ArmyBengal
This is just rediculous... The local stations should be able to get their time in to get some stuff on the team. It is the "CINCINNATI" Bengals, right ??? You would think the local supporters should get the opportunity to get shots and interviews for the fans at a minimum...Oh well... F*CKERS !!!WHODEY !!!
