Stripes
I highly doubt McCargo will be available in the 4th, or even the 3rd. He is moving up the boards pretty fast. Still, Kiper is not a Bengals homer, so it is good to see him come up with a draft as solid as this for us. I don't want Williams though. Also Duffman, did you retreive this draft from an ESPN Insider article? If so, the mock in your post will have to be deleted. Your efforts are appreciated, but that could get Bengalszone into hot water.
bengalboomer7
It looks liek he just took info and pasted it, not the whole thing. I think(hope) it's OK
ArmyBengal
Williams is ok, but I hate his attitude !!!If Kiwi was there in the 2nd, I'd take him.Instead of Byrd in the 2nd, take Fasano in the 3rd.McCargo in the 4th would be HUGE !!!WHODEY !!! DuffMan
I copied it from another forum (nfl-fans), I'm assuming that doesn't get me in trouble for spreading info that was already released by someone else on a public forum. but if not ill delete the crap. Indycat
With the players Kiper has available, I'd rather have M. Lewis TE in the 1st and D. Bullocks DB in the 2nd.
DesperateDerelict
If you can believe little birdies: Fox Sports Article8. A little birdie tells me that Bengals coach Marvin Lewis has fallen in love with UTEP linebacker Thomas Howard. That would change your draft: Howard in the 2nd, a TE later. schweinhart
Seems fairly solid all the way around.I'd say he's got some guys too high but only time will tell:1. Richard Marshall in the 1st: Solid wide CB but seems a round too early unless teams are really convinced he's ready to hang in man at the next level.2. Ashton Youboty in the 1st: Same as above.3. Kellen Clemens in the 2nd round. He's definitely been getting the private workouts to make his case and has the track record for timing out well on throws to quick break receivers, but this seems too high.4. Dominique Byrd in the 2nd. Just can't see him going ahead of a TE as good as Joe Klop. Or Fasono for that matter.5. Brent Hawkins in the 3rd. There's always somebody that pops in Day 1, but this one seems stretchy. Then there's some players who look like they're undervalued:1. Daryn Colledge in the 4th. He sure looks like one of the top O-lineman who is actually athletic enough to compete for a left tackle spot.2. John McCargo in the 4th. There's some very real questions about McCargo that could make him slide this far, like how much of his success had to do with playing next to Super Mario and how recurrent will his foot stress fracture be. But McCargo's has enough track record to show he's got an ability for penetration that teams should value higher than the 4th round.I do like seeing Dion Byrum in there -- he's got a whole lot of upside. And Willie Reid is on the rise.
HairOnFire
The thing that jumps out at me is how much talent there is in Kiper's 3rd round....and how much it reminded me about previously wanting to move up about 10-12 spots to take better advantage of it. princeton
the strength of the 3rd/4th round talent should make it easier for us to move up in the first round. OTOH, it's yet another great year to trade out of the first and to add a fourth rounder. I doubt that we're staying put.
HairOnFire
Third-Round Projections 65. Houston Ko Simpson, DB South Carolina 66. Houston (from NO) Gerris Wilkinson, LB Georgia Tech 67. Tampa Bay Willie Reid, WR Fresno St. 91. Cincinnati Stanley McClover, DE Auburn I have no real interest in moving up in the 1st round, but it would pain me a little to stay put at #91 while talent like above slipped away. And it wouldn't cost much to move up 5-10 or even 15-20 slots.

Spor_tees
If Manny Lawson, Vernon Davis, or Bunkley are there at the Bengals pick in the first they have to stay put and take one of those guys. If none of those guys are there, the Bengals have to hope there are 2 teams in a bidding war for a certain guy and they are both trying to move up in front of the other. If that happens hopefully the Bengals can package their first and one of the seventh rounders together to pick up maybe a second and a third-fourth. Now if we can only get someone to take K-Wash off our hands.....2 second rounders, 2 Third rounders, and 2 Fourth rounders in this years draft would ROCK!Can you believe how far Martin Nance has fallen???Second Round1. Gabe Watson2. K.O. SimpsonThird Round1. Devin Hester2. Anthony FassanoFourth Round1. Rodrique Wright2. Chris GocongNow that is a draft I could live with! HoosierCat
I do like seeing Dion Byrum in there -- he's got a whole lot of upside.Go Bobcats! He certainly wowed in the Pitt game earlier this year, eh?I would say he's definitely on people's radar scree...even got some love from draftnik Al Fromzack, the guy who runs eastcoastsports.com, a few days ago:03/09...Every year there are several prospects that get drafted by NFL teams despite not receiving a Combine invite... Dion Byrum of the Ohio Bobcats is a Cornerback that falls into that category this year...Byrum isn't a common household name amoung draftniks... but he's on every teams radar screen!...Byrum is 5-11.1 192...has been clocked in the 40 at 4.33 and has recorded a 41" vertical jump...he has good size and the speed, athleticism and big play ability that Scouts look for in a Corner...his production on the field won't go unnoticed on Draft day since Byrum led the nation with 3 Defensive TD's and recorded 6 interceptions in which 2 were run back for scores...he was named to the 2nd Team All-American squad by the Associated Press and was invited to the East-West Shrine Game...Byrum carries a mid to late round grade going into the Draft despite being overlooked by the Combine invitees.
