Stripes
This truely surprises me. The outside world must be well aware of Palmer's situation, but hell I'll take it! Makes me wonder how a "who'd have won that playoff game without Palmer's injury" poll would go! I don't want to rekindle old arguments though.Pretty much all the division predictions there are panning out exactly according to who won them in 2005. I picked the Patriots, Colts, Bengals, Broncos, Eagles, Panthers, Vikings, and Cardinals to win the divisions.
ArmyBengal
I think overall the Bengals have the much more explosive offense and they are "known". The Steelers don't have the characters that we do. I think the Bengals are a very likeable team to those outside of Cincy, seeing as we were so bad for many years. Sort of like the Patriots before they started winning. Lets hope we have the same outcome !!!WHODEY !!!
BengalBillyBob
Unfortunately divisions arent won in polls. If they were the Vikings, Ravens, and Bills would have all been playoff teams last year.

derekshank
This probably doesn't have a lot to do with a fan poll... but I suppose it is possible that the fans who voted were educated enough to realize that Pittsburgh lost their biggest leader in Jerome Bettis... their trick play extraordinaire in Randle El their best DE in Kimo, their very decent SS in Chris Hope, and still have the potential to lose Ike Taylor. That's a lot to lose, and still expect a repeat. The Steelers for the first time probably have more holes to fill in the draft than the Bengals, because we had money to make two key FA additions... not to mention that they have a later pick. Palmer not starting the season is a big hit to the Bengals... but that's not even for sure, so who knows?
Wraith
Aaron Smith is Pittsburgh's best DE, but the Squeelers did lose alot, I personally think Randle El coul dbe a star...then again I am an Indiana Alumni and thus biased.

HoTbOy
The recognition is nice, after the draft i always go to the newsstands and buy the magazines to see where the experts have us finishing in the division...so any good press regardless if it is meaningless is good to me...and as you said Pitt did lose alot, I know i wouldn't want to lose TJ, MWilliams, JSmith and Rudi all in 1 offseason you can't replace everybody, not in 1 year... ArmyBengal
That's a pretty close margin, but don't think it will be so close if there wasn't such uncertainty with Carson's situation...WHODEY !!!
Whur CHad At?
I think Carson will be back in time, he will be nice and healthy. Cleveland should improve though
BigBenBlows
Cleveland reminds me a lot of us a few years back. I went to the game the Brows played against us and the looked pretty decent. I think Romeo will get it turned around for them just like Marvin did for us.
BengalszoneBilly
I think Carson will be back in time, he will be nice and healthy. Cleveland should improve thoughOut of all the AFC North teams, I think the Browns have the biggest "sleeper" factor going for them. Unfortunately our success last season woke up any teams who may have been snoozing on playing the Bengals in 2006...

I know, it will take some time for them to gel as a team and play together, but I think Crennel helps that learning curve for them and they surprise some people this year. Hopefully NOT US !!!WHODEY !!!
BengalChamps
Dont forget about the Ratbirds being a sneaky team. When they have Ray and Ed back next year, it may be a lot different. Those 2 guys scare me.

Those 2 guys scare me. I agree that Reed and Ray Ray make that defense better and there's no discounting that at all, but unless Boller turns into a better QB during the offseason, they are in trouble. They lost some players on that defense that were younger and rounded out that D as well, so we will see...WHODEY !!!
derekshank
Baltimore will probably be better than last year... but I have a hard time thinking they will contend for AFCN championship.Ray will make them better... but he is getting old. Reed will help them out a lot, but they lost DT Ma'ake Kemoeatu, S Will Demps, and DE Anthony Weaver off their defense... and I'm still not afraid of their offense. skyline
I'm much more concerned about Reed coming back than Lewis. He's still a force, but he won't dominate like he has in the past.I'm much more worried about the Browns.
ArmyBengal
I'm much more worried about the Browns. Wow, how huge of a statement is that ??? When anyone is more concerned about the Browns than the Ravens, you know something is going right with a coach and the players situation !!! I do agree !!!WHODEY !!! derekshank
I still think they are relying too much on FA. They will definitely be better, but they haven't made any long terms solutions. Remeo will keep them in every game... but I still don't see much more than 8-8 from them.

They don't appear to be following the dynasty blueprint that teams seem to be striving for these days, which is surprising since Romeo was part of the success in New England. They may just be trying to put a bandaid on for now, thouh, just to give the fans something to cheer about.
