2006 Schedule (Official)

What I think sucks is 4 days between division rival games (Turds and Birds in November)

I don't think it sucks at all. Yeah, the four-day gap is tight, but from the the 27th (the day after the Browns game) to the 17th (the day before Indy) is a span of 21 days -- three weeks -- in which they play two games. That's basically an extra bye going into the last four weeks.

This is a great schedule. Very doable. The bye is nicely positioned if Carson needs some extra time, which I think likely. Browns and Pats are winnable even without Palmer. Really, the only "killer stretch" is the last three weeks.

I like it. :bengal:

Could be a rough start, but 2nd half schedule lightens up a bit.

Love the 4:15 game on NYE.

Given the situation with Carson, I like how the schedule is laid out. It's better that we go through some hard games and then bring him back with the easier ones. If it were the other way around, we might drop a game or two we shouldn't because Carson wasn't there and then have to beat some tough competition in order just to stay in the playoff race.

But finishing off the season with @Colts, @Broncos and vs Steelers! :o Talk about a hard way to finish a season.

My gut says we'll finish 10 - 6.

Before the 2005 season started...here was the Bengals strength of schedule...

Bengals opponents win percentage .523 | opponents wins-losses 134-122

Here is what the Bengals opponents win percentage ending up being when

the season was over... .477.

Now here is the Bengals 2006 strength of schedule...

Bengals opponents win percentage .543 | opponents wins-losses 139-117

As long as Palmer comes back early in the season. And the TEAM stays fairly healthy,

I like our chances.

Season is 13 games long for Cincy. If they are not 9-4 or 10-3 heading into those last three games, hard to see playoffs for 2006. Critical stretch is games 9-13, all winnable.

I like the break AFTER those games too. And I like pretty much the entire

schedule. Just 4 days between games is VERY tight. Of course though,

the Ratbirds also only have 4 days between games. But they have to

play the Stealers at home, before they travel to Cincy on Thursday night.

So that gives me a little comfort.

Espn says that our only monday night game is against the Colts. Jacksonville has TWO! monday night games. They are the worst fans ever. I can't believe that.

Yeah but the Jags only have one Prime Time Pre-season game. And it`s on CBS.

The Jags have a total of 3 Prime Time games. The Bengals have a total of 4,

counting the Thursday Night game...

If you really want to include those preseason games. I'd say the Jags got more primetime where it matters, but I don't really care anyways.

The schedule is what it is and what was expected as we finished 1st in the Division, however, the uncertainty of Carson just puts the heebee geebee's in us fans (I'm one of them)... If Carson is ready to go and healthy, then I'm REALLY looking forward to the opportunity of playing AND BEATING some of the top teams in the league !!! If Carson isn't ready to go and we drop games early, this could get hairy...

Marvin is all about the quick start and players stepping up. I wonder how much the first 4 games are making them rethink the QB they are targeting or if it changes the thoughts of giving up a pick for Harrington ??

WHODEY !!!

Palmer won't be "healed" for 8-12 months. 8 months puts him at week 1, and won't have any training time under his belt then. Realistically I think he misses the first 4 games then comes back after the bye week.

This year we wont have the luxury of getting off to a fast start vs weak teams. I think it will be a struggle just to sniff a wild card unless the rest of the division implodes.

The NFC is weaker than the AFC. But the NFC South is the

one of the toughest divisions in the NFC.

Here is how the NFC South teams faired last year against the

AFC East...

The Falcons went 3-1 against the AFC East last season,

with their one loss coming against the Patriots.

The Panthers went 3-1 against the AFC East, with their one

loss coming against the Dolphins.

The Saints went 2-2 against the AFC East with their losses coming

against the Patriots and Dolphins.

The Bucs went 2-2 against the AFC East with their losses coming

against the Jets and Patriots.

The Bengals have to play against some of the top TE`s in the NFL in '06.

They`ll see Tony Gonzales, Todd Heap, Algea Crumpler, Antonio Gates,

Heath Miller and Dallas Clark. (plus the return of the Soldja KW2)

The Bengals will also play against some of the top RB`s in the NFL.

They`ll see Cadilac Williams, Warrick Dunn-TJ Duckett- Mike Vick,

DeShaun Foster, Larry Johnson, LT, whoever the Broncos throw out there

and the RB`s of our division.

The Defense is definitely going to be tested.

With all that said, the Bengals will be returning all 11 starters on Offense and all the starters

on Defense (accept for Ohalate and KK, both replaced with upgrades). I think the D will be

much improved and the Offense will be better than ever.

BRING ON THE DRAFT !

WHO-DEY !

When we won't be having Ohalete on the field sucking terribly, this won't worry me quite as much! :sure:

This schedule is brutal. Brutal. It's like the Chargers last year. I hope the draft is heavy in the defensive area. Whooo this is going to be difficult. I'm glad though. If they get to the playoffs next year it will definitely be earned compared to last year. Maybe the 1 millionth Monday night snub will inspire a bit. I don't even mind the MNF snubs. I laugh when the 3-10 Packers led by their league leading int. thrower comes in there for a crap game and I can hear the announcer's discuss his warrior training.

I love this schedule. You only get to be the best by proving it. Plus I want good games to watch. I just hope and pray that Palmer isn't rushed back too quickly...

Also, how in Gods Green Earth does Seattle get the third easiest SOS in the upcoming season? And the Bears get the easiest? Am I missing something? They did both make the playoffs right?

Well the only thing the schedule makers can really control is that first place teams play other first place teams. The rest is part of a preset rotation, and apparently the 'Hawks and Bears got lucky this year, while we did not.

A quote from Lance`s blog the other day..

Lance McAllister

Cincinnati will host Pittsburgh in a Monday night game and will travel to Indianapolis for a late season Saturday night affair.

I've also been told a Sunday Night home game is on the docket for them....not sure of opponent.

Don't be surprised if it's Carolina in an effort to showcase Steve Smith and Chad Johnson.

Nationally Televised game...that isn`t prime Time...

Sunday, Oct. 1 New England at Cincinnati (4:15 p.m. ET, CBS)

It also appears that the Bengals-Broncos game is slated to be a Nationally Televised game.

The Bengals currently are scheduled for two prime-time night games. They also are slated for two late-afternoon Sunday contests that will be featured national doubleheader games on CBS.

This schedule is brutal. Brutal.

I have to disagree. There is no such thing in the NFL as an easy schedule, and this one is pretty friendly.

@KC - our twin, all O, no D. Will hurt not having have Palmer.

Cleveland - They are going to have a ton of FAs, rookies, and rusty returnees (like the f**king soldier) still trying to mesh.

@Pittsburgh - This time it's war.

NE - Not a cakewalk, but not the Pats of old.

BYE - here comes Carson. He inherits a 2-2 record.

@ TB - See comment about NE game.

Carolina - Tough opponent but at least we get thm at PBS.

Atlanta - Happy Halloween, Michael Vick. A little chilly here this time of year.

@ Balitmore - Should be on their thrid QB of the season by now (brittle McNair out, Boller sucks, Kerry Collins comes out of retirement?)

SD - See comment about Carolina.

@ NO - No excuse for losing this one.

@ Cle - Always a game.

Baltimore - Still don't have a QB.

Oakland - See comment about NO.

@ Indy

@ Denver

Pittsburgh

- The stretch run. I see the Bengals at about 8-5 or 7-6 coming in to these 3. Will likely need at least 2. Tailor-made for shifts to prime time games. Outcome of these 3 games will determine if the Bengals make the playoffs
