lando griffin
Press conference is on Bengals.comHe seemed a lot more well-spoken than I thought he would be. He had good stuff to say about Marvin, Cincinnati, getting another championship. I was really happy to hear him talk about how he didn't play as much as he wanted last year, how is job is to be nasty as hell and wreak havoc on anyone in his path to the ball, and how he was really knowledgeable of his role in the scheme of the defense. I liked the pick-up before, even happier now.

I liked the pick-up before, even happier now.I with you. I liked the conference and I thought that Adams sounded exactly like the type of player that Marvin wants in Cincy. As a Bengals fan we haven't heard a player speak like Adams in a long time. You can hear the maturity, professionalism, and championship level experience that he brings to the team. I think that the Bengals did a lot more than pick up a good DT with this move, I think they went out and got a leader. I think Adams will be able to change the mind-set of some of the younger players on the defense and really help this team off the field as much as on the field.I mean, how refreshing was it to hear a guy say that being a good player doesn't always mean that you have to make a lot of plays, but to do your job well and help those around you be in a better position to make plays?? I'm paraphrasing a bit but essentially thats what he was saying.
AGrizzlyBaer
some comments lance heard and put on his blog*I have gas in my tank....they just didn't let me use it in Buffalo.*I almost came here in 2003.....it just didn't work out*I left my ring at home, because I intend to win one here.*When teams play us, they will know they are in for a long day. Bring your lunch pail, hard hat and prepare for us to get after you.*If teams are foolish enough to leave one guy on me, I'll make the play*My job is to tear up anything and everything in my path*I spent a lot of time with Jon Kitna and trust him....he told me this community is great*I'd be here if they were 0-16, because I want to play for Marvin. And Marvin will never be 0-16.*Health: I feel pretty good. We'll see.*I told Marvin, get me close enough on a deal that I don't look like an idiot*edit* and i found this one too “The fans are awesome. They're great on the web site, yes I do read the message board,” said Adams
HairOnFire
I liked it when he said he reads fan message boards. It gave me hope that he's read all the toilet related jokes I've written about him.

Stripes
Well I doubt he reads the official Bengals message board, because that stuff is hardly understandable.. so what's left? The Zone. I didn't see the press conference, but by all the quotes I'm seeing here it does look like he said all the right things. We'll see if he lives up to all that, or if he's more like a presidential candidate.
HairOnFire
"Talk about defense, you have to be very nasty. You have to be able to punish someone and physically make them quit in order to be a great defensive player. . . We can do illegal things out there on the football field. You want to be nasty and dominant. That’s what we’re looking to do here." --- Fat Sam Okay, he got to me a little bit right there. Reached right out and touched my heart. The_Next_Big_Thing
Ok, I'm really really a convert now. I jumped out of my seat at work and had my receptionist come in to see what was going on when he said he left his ring at home because he intended to get a new one here in Cincinnati. He talks the talk, now lets see him waddle the waddle....

If anything, he makes you fell better about the state of our defense. Now lets see if the Bengals can add 1 or 2 more into the mix.
ArmyBengal
I loved the comments as well... I really hope he just crushes people at the LOS and allows our LB's to move. Imagine Odell and Pollack having open lanes and using their speed, not to mention Landon (who's quick as sh*t) !!!Not to bring up old stuff, but didn't B Rob make a comment about how he was brought in to stop the run ??? I don't think my asspiece can handle any more hot air being blown up it !!! WHODEY !!!

I can't *wait* to see him take a C and G and knock them into a RB while he's getting the handoff.
membengal
Well, how long have we been begging the D to show a little bit of nasty and attitude? A long time.Great to read the comments, better still to know that he has a history of backing them up. I have been consistently pleased with the signing, hard to be anything else right now. The_Next_Big_Thing
It's too bad we can't really believe a word Sam said, since instead of being in the weight room working out, or doing rehab, or studying the playbook, he was being briefed on exactly what Marvin wanted him to say.....If he's going to be the leader of the free defense, he doesn't have time to be doing press conferences or going to strip clubs! And god help us all if he takes a moment to watch C-Span!
bengalskyspy
He talked about the importance of being "on-point" and he was certainly that. He was so strong he might even be able to reign in Chad a bit. Can you imagine if he was pissed at Chad, there would be nothing left but grease spot. I loved what he had to say. Absolutely sent chills down my spine. Another consumate professional courtesy of Marvin. My goodness he even gave props to Thornton and B-Rob. Who-Dey!!!! ArmyBengal
"My goal is to destroy absolutely everything in my way" How can you not love that statement right there ?? I realized something though, when I (at 175lbs) make the same comment, I get a lot of giggles and it seems to bring a smile to peoples faces, but when a 340 lb man makes that comment, the room just goes quiet... I'm thinking of bulking up !!! WHODEY !!!
