HoosierCat
http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=5173No big surprise there.Adds about $1 million to our cap space.
TJJackson
Good move.If he's healthy, he'd remain a possibility to re-sign at a lower dollar figure, but as it stands, he wouldn't add much

The_Next_Big_Thing
Ifeanyi Ohalete, who started opposite Kaesviharn last year when injuries hit the starters, is a free agent and doesn’t look to be back. AND THERE WAS MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH REJOICING!!!!
ArmyBengal
Waiting for this one to happen. This is also why Safety will still be addressed in the draft for those of you thinking Jackson would keep that from happening. Would love to say Herring helped out and will be missed, but in all honesty... He didn't and he won't... Time to move on.WHODEY !!!
Dadraftnick
Thank God, he sucked when he was healthy. Now its time to get rid of Robinson and if Thornton wants to stay I would make him take a pay cut.Now dont re sign Ifeani and get Dwayne Slay on the 2nd day of the draft and teach him up on playing the pass and use him in run situations and blitzes in the the meantime he could even play a little LB

Larry
We got bigger at the d-line. no one can take that away from us, but I wonder if Lavar is next?
turningpoint
You know this seriously could be one of the best piece of writing I've read in over 5 years.I mean s**t, it talks about us signing a playmaking safety, adding a run stopping DT. Cutting an under performing player, and not resiging an underperforming player. It's just amazing.anywas 2 of my 3 predictions have been reached. BTG
Here's what I'd like to see from here on out:1. Cut Thornton or make him take a pay cut to around 800K a season.2. Sign Arrington & move Pollack to DE.3. Sign Jamie Martin.Draft any combination of three out of this list of players on the first day (I've left out people who will obviously be gone by the time we pick):S Daniel Bullocks - Nebraska Darnell Bing - USCKo Simpson - South Carolina Jason Allen - Tennessee Roman Harper - Alabama Pat Watkins - Florida St. Marcus Hudson - NC StateCBTye Hill - ClemsonAntonio Cromartie - FSUJonathan Joseph - South CarolinaAshton Youboty - Ohio St.Richard Marshall - Fresno St. Kelly Jennings - Miami (FL) Danieal Manning - Abilene ChristianDeMario Minter - Georgia Dee Webb - Florida DTBroderick Bunkley - FSUGabe Watson - MichiganJonathan Lewis - Virginia Tech John McCargo - NC State Dusty Dvoracek - Oklahoma Jesse Mahelona - TennesseeOrien Harris - Miami (FL) Kyle Williams - L.S.U.Babatunde Oshinowo - StanfordLe Kevin Smith - Nebraska TELeonard Pope - GeorgiaMarcedes Lewis - U.C.L.A.Anthony Fasano - Notre Dame Joe Klopfenstein - Colorado
AMC
Not at all unexpected of course...As we think about the next move, I think Thornton and BRob both stay. Len P at ESPN.com actually said that Adams, Smith, Thornton and BRob are one of the best DT rotations in the league. Don't know if I would go that far, but....Now the idea of Lavar coming here and moving Pollack to DE? All I can say is "Hmmmm, that sounds like a decent idea." At the least if Pollack plays more at DE you have Landon, Odell and Simmons at LB. Not bad either....Do think we look S and TE in the first few rounds.... Stripes
Good deal, we just keep moving foward. I agree that this is a sign that a safety drafted on the first day is still a likely occurrence.

kingwilly
If we had cut him after he got burned by TO, we'd have been better off....hindsight=20/20.An extra mill to throw at Arrington...
schweinhart
Herring was the worst Marvin signing. So long. The Bengals definitely need another safety in the draft but not Day 1. If they could go 11-6 with K2 and Ohalete, why burn such a high draft pick for a position that has been both addressed through free agency and will substantially improve with the Pro Bowl caliber Madieu?I'm liking Dawan Landry in the 5th but wouldn't be surprised if Greg Blue and Dwayne Slay are both there when the Bengals pick in the 5th.
