GROIIIDayton
they are going to be wishing they had Harrington back by week four.
Stripes
I highly doubt that this will still be the case by the time the preseason rolls around. McCown is just a better player, and I think better suited for Detroit's terrible offense. I don't think either player will be happy there regardless. ArmyBengal
Once again, if they are pumping helium into the dome to help with Kitna's long ball, they should be good. I think that might be a little difficult for calling plays at the line though. Wait a minute, Kitna can't do that anyway, so they are good !!!WHODEY !!! BengalszoneBilly
they are going to be wishing they had Harrington back by week four.By week four Josh McCown will be officially taking over starting duties for Detroit, handing Jon his oh so familiar clipboard, and ending the Lions four game skid with their first win. Mostly due to him not being pre-disposed to holding on to the ball until the entire defensive line is lying atop of him, as Mr. Kitna loved doing about every other snap! I highly doubt that this will still be the case by the time the preseason rolls around. McCown is just a better player, and I think better suited for Detroit's terrible offense. I don't think either player will be happy there regardless.I think they'll go with Jon initially, hoping his experience will make the difference. They'll soon find out he's about 10 years short to cover the margin, and then hand the ball to the kid. I'm serious, and willing to bet a sizable portion of my 161,120 'Zone $$$ that it will happen precisely that way. IMHO, McCown is a far better QB than Kitna. BigBenBlows
I might be the only one who feels this way but, Kitna could have a big year. He's got talented recievers and a good O coordinator up there. I know, I know he had that here with us but a change of scenery is sometimes what a person needs. We'll have to wait and see. BengalszoneBilly
I know, I know he had that here with us but a change of scenery is sometimes what a person needs.I'm pretty sure the bottom of a sack pile looks the same in Detroit as it did in Cincy or Seattle! The dude has seen more stadium turf up close than any 4 senior stadium grounds keepers in the entire NFL!
ArmyBengal
The only thing's you can call Detroit's receiving corps are:Inexperienced, Underachieving, Injury Prone, or Drugged Up...To call them talented is an overstatement at best. I can't see no-arm Kitna changing that perception any time soon. Put me in the McCown camp as well. I wish Kitna all the luck in the world, but at the same time, can't say as I care either way, because Detroit is going to SUCK again. WHODEY !!! bengalboomer7
Awful lot of bad talk for a guy who helped right the ship in Cincy, was always a team player, and chose to mentor Carson instead of acting like a baby as most NFL players would.Remember when they first announced Carson as the starter. I believe a WR named Chad Johnson was initially against it.I'm not too worried about Detroit's WR corps, it's the O line and running game that will determine his success. And I for one, will root hard for the guy. But, Martz's offense isn't exactly a good fit for Kit. ArmyBengal
What Kitna has meant to this organization as a mentor for Carson, I will never forget. Outside of his fabulous 8-8 season, I'm not a fan of Kitna as a player. No, he never b*tched and was a great supporter of the team, but he's just not a great QB. Sorry, but I do wish him well. He'll be a great coach someday !!!WHODEY !!!

I know you're right. It's just that Carson was so much better than Kitna was in such a short time, (in large part thanks to Jon) it really did make Jon look bad. It would have made a great deal of NFL QB's look the same way. Not just Jon.And I agree he will be a good QB coach someday.
