Whur CHad At?
Anyone else hear this from Chris Mortenson??? I only heard the last minute of it, but he said the owners could be cracking WAY WAY down on celebrations, specifcally Chad Johnson...he also said since Marvin was a voting member now, that he would probably love to crack down on this. Anyone else catch this??
Stripes
If this is the case, then I am sure Chad will scour the agreement up and down for any loopholes he can use to continue his goofiness. If he is no longer allowed to celebrate, then fine. That's probably for the better.
B24
He'll probably just have to take it to the sideline like they made Ickey do.

HoTbOy
I didn't mind the celebrations, but i did not like the list, i thought that he hype the opposing player up to much to try and stop him....i know he said he did it to make the opposing player play his best so therefore he played his best, but you don't need any kind of bulletin board material, just do your job... HairOnFire
Is this the best thing these guys got to do? I'm in favor of the crackdown....mostly because the endzone is starting to look like the Vibe Awards Show.

ArmyBengal
God forbid someone actually, oh I don't know, maybe have fun...For God's sake get the hell over it already. Does the celebration make you feel less about yourself esteem or something people ?? As for the list, let people target Chad all they want, because TJ, Henry, or whomever were that much more open when all the focus went to stopping Chad. Oh and guess what... He still lead the Conference again, so I don't get it. Chad is the man, talks the talk and backs it up on the field.NFL = No Fun LeagueWHODEY !!! bengalboomer7
Nothing will be done, Hair. Money rules all, and I'm not a big fan of it either, but celebrations sell.
kayaker0678
man how dumb can the league be??? The touchdown celebrations are half the reasons some girls watch football
Whur CHad At?
Gotta love Mikey B. for this comment:“Chad is never offensive. But it does attract attention to one player and can be a distraction and I think our game needs to get away from that a little bit,” Brown said. “I enjoy it, but it depends on your perspective. When he did the Riverdance (in Chicago), I thought that was great. When the guy from Pittsburgh (Hines Ward) did it, I didn’t like it.”
Kazkal
I remember when they threw a flag in 2004 for TJ bumping chests with chad
turningpoint
I see in about 3 years after he's calmed down a bit, him quitely getting that 1800yd season he's been dreaming about for years.this IMO is good news.
ArmyBengal
People need to find something better to worry about besides a freakin celebration !!! If people worried as much about our defense as they do about what Chad is going to do next, we would have a top 3 defense.WHODEY !!!
Folz
I'm sure even with the new rules in place that Chad is going to do some funny celebrations, but part of me thinks that it would be a huge statement on his part if he stopped celebrating. Don't get me wrong, I think that Chad doing funny stuff on the field gets the Bengals tons of media coverage, but I don't know if its helping or hurting his game. Any opnions? When Hines did it, it was mocking and hurtful.

I don't think it has any positive or negative effect on his game. It's all in good fun, so I don't have a problem with it. If he does stop celebrating, that'd be fine with me as well. Still, it is nice to see a striped receiver all over ESPN rather than T.O. 24/7.
HairOnFire
It never bothered me when they made Ickey take the shuffle to the sideline. In fact, doing so got more players involved.
B24
Looks like Chad's dancing will still be allowed, just can't be prolonged and can't use props or remove helmet (while proposing on the sideline).
ArmyBengal
They just keep amending this rule year after year. Chad will come up with something else entertaining next year and then the following off season will be spent saying how he can no longer do what he came up with. End the suspense now and say there is no celebration of any kind, at any time, anywhere and then this won't be a recurring problem. They all have something stuck up the asses to keep this from happening anyway, so end it already. On that note--- Party on Chad and continue to have FUN !!! WHODEY !!! ShulaSteakhouse
Chad (or anyone) using props is the problem they have with it - was already a rule, but not very inclusive (end zone markers, Santa bags of signed gear etc..., on the sideline).I am one who thinks Chad needs to tone it down a big notch. Celebrating is cool, going overboard just gets old, and agitates/motivates the opposing team.
ShulaSteakhouse
From Lance's Blog:When will Chad think team first? "This isn't going to stop me from keeping the fans of Cincinnati entertained and happy," Johnson said. "I always kept it within the rules and I'm going to keep doing it that way. There is no one more creative than me.""all kinds of people want to see what I'm going to do," said Johnson"It's a team game, not an individual game," Mike Brown said.ESPN.COM "I think it's needed," San Diego coach Marty Schottenheimer told The Associated Press. Schottenheimer is entering his 21st season, most of any current head coach. "The game is about the team, not the individual."****Nice to know Chad is following Marvin's off season lead for this team to mature, grow-up, and think "team" in order to become a Super Bowl level team. I'm guessing that wins make Bengal fans happy and would keep them entertained.Chad set a record on ESPN last night for the number of times using the words, "me" and "I"........it was kind of embarrassing.Just curious......how many guys speaking out about this have Super Bowl rings? If you need a TD celebration to entertain you, you need help.posted by lance1360homer at 7:08 PMEnquirer StoryI'm sorry, but Chad looks like an idiot more and more every day, as he slowly approaches TO territory.Hey Chad - when you don't drop an important pass during a game - then you can celebrate. If you're the greatest entertainer the world has seen - then show us how good you are by catching everything that comes your way and learning to run after the catch, and not disappear during a playoff game.Shut your gold plated mouth and grow up CJ - fans who come to games to see dances are losers and aren't football fans - the vast majority will simply take a victory over your increasingly stupid antics any day.I get more annoyed with him every day - just shut up and play the game, if you want to celebrate, fine, but there's no reason to grandstand and distract the team from it's goal. We've watched enough showboating primadonnas over the years here who don't have a single SB ring on their finger. Enough already, we come to watch you play football - not dance.
