According to their website, the Bengals talked with WR Antonio Chatman and are close to re-signing CB Rashaud Bauman to a one year deal.

They also have set up a visit for Josh McCown, but he wants a good price

Aaron Brooks might be in the mix now..

And Adams agent said that we his client will not wait forever, but understands they need to sign a QB first.

Basically, we should kind of hustle it up on the QB situation

First of all, McCown is smoking the wacky-tobacky if he thinks he's just going to land a starting job on the trigger in the NFL....I think he is very overhyped. to the extent that he is not Sage R., then, OK, he's better than Spice Boy...but not much.

Would love to see Chatman, the former Bearcat, come here. He had a great year for what was expected of him, really impressive...with Walter, Henry and possibly Squirrel leaving or not playing, this would make a lot of sense if his $ is right.

Patience, schweiny...we're talking about the first week of FA.

We still have to sign a QB, maybe Adams, draft and then round 2 of FA...plenty of time to plot and ploy.

Chatham is pretty good...not "out of your mind great" but pretty good...better PR than Ratliff and a decent target from the slot and probably good value...remember, Walter and Henry are audi....

I seen Chatman all right and liked him. He's got some nuggets on him for some of the routes they ran him. He'd be all right to add and proly better than what could be expected of Broussard. But the Bengals activity this year in free agency has been lackluster -- not that anything different was really expected.

Chatman had 8 receptions for 97 yards against the Bengals in week 8 last year. He wouldn't be a bad pick up, but he is nothing more than a #4 WR who can return punts. He is not a player that is going to put this team over the top. I would be happier to see us draft Devin Hester to return punts and play CB.

Devin Hester **may** be able in the NFL to return punts and play a position as well...this even assuming he falls to a draft pick we own are consider him the best overall value to the team at that time

This fellow **can** do those two things, and all we have to do is sign him

Get a freaking clue asshat! Dexter Jackson isn't a playmaker? He's an excellent tackler, and he has been a Super Bowl MVP. Assuming he is over his injury (which he would have to be to pass the physical and actually be signed) he will be a playmaker.

I personally like the Chatman idea.
