ArmyBengal Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 The next time we play the Jets is at home in 2007, unless we meet in the playoffs... Yeah right, the Jets in the playoffs !!! WHODEY !!! Quote
HoTbOy Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 i say let Kit go because he is only holding our O back with his dink and dunk approach. He can't get the ball downfield to Chad or CHerny if he is back. he is to careless with the ball and you can count on him to help the other team out somehow..yeah he knows the system but so does Bramlet, bring Bramlet back and let Krenzel haul-ass, If they want another backup even Ferotte knows our system, but my FA choice would be Fiedler he can manage the game has a strong arm and another coach for Carson when he is ready... Dirk Funk Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Penny signed a deal in NY according to Sirus NFL. $3mill, maybe worth upto $9mill with incentives.Looks more like he might remain local after all. Quote
TJJackson Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Kitna wants to start, pay isn't as important. If he was willing to remain a backup, he'd sign here, where he is valued, respected, and has a home.As a Jet, he'd be a backupSo no, as of the signing of Pennington, he will not sign with the Jets. kingwilly Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Kitna has as muich chance to go to NY as he does to stay in the 'Nati.Penny is fragile and they need a decent back-up. Kitna suits their west-coast system far better than our vertical assault. It would be a good fit, as Penny will not play a whole season (16 straight games) again in his career. Quote
Kazkal Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Wonder if there is any chance of a sign and trade for a certain defenseman who wants out of NY?Not sure if I'd really like that or not, but I wonder if it could happen? Not involving Kit, since he's a UFA. In any event, (unconfirmed) word this morning via pft is that the Jets have agreed to a deal with Denver, swapping Abraham for the Broncos' second 1st round pick (no. 29). See the "you be the GM thread," I pasted the story there.well thats a good replacement for pryce Quote
kingwilly Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Neither has CarsonNeither has Carson what? played 16 straight games?...uh, he got injured in the playoffs.I think this team would do better with a strong-armed guy like Brooks or Ramsey (not him so much) who would run a pared-down playbook than risking Kitna out there underthrowing and forcing passes he can't make.If Kitna get his chance somewhere else, i won't mind one bit....and please, no Maddox talk. The only thing I see keping the Jets from really pursuing Kit is they could grab Cutler or another talented arm in the first 2 rounds...a guy like Whitehurst would be a good fit for them. Whur CHad At? Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Kitna will prob. go to Baltimore now considering the Jets are out of the race for him now. Baltimore vowed to back out becuase the bidding war would be too high but now everything seems to indicate that that might not be. Quote

Sounds like it'd certainly be a more favorable destination for Jon than the Jets. Plenty of young offensive talent around him, even if none of it has amounted to anything yet. Either way, he will still have to tutor some young quarterback I am sure. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Although I'm not impressed by him, Harrington hardly seems like the odd man out in Detroit. He's learning a new system put in place by Martz and God knows he has more talent than Kitna. Can't really see Kitna being any happier there than here. Oh yeah, I think Harrington will have a much better season coming up with Martz on the offensive side of things for the Lions. Hated him as a head coach, but might do well there as an OC...WHODEY !!! I'll leave God out of this one as I would hate to think I know more than God. WHODEY !!! Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 10, 2006 Author Report Posted March 10, 2006 Jets jilting Kitna?Jets | Team closing in on Ramsey tradeFri, 10 Mar 2006 05:31:26 -0800Mark Cannizzaro, of the New York Post, reports two sources familiar with the goings on between the New York Jets and Washington Redskins, told The Post last night that the Jets and Jimmy Sexton, the agent for Washington backup QB Patrick Ramsey, have been actively working on the parameters for a trade that would bring Ramsey to New York. Talk is the Jets would give the Redskins a fifth-round draft pick in next month's NFL Draft as well as a possible conditional pick in the 2007 draft, depending on how much and how well Ramsey plays. That pick could be as high as a third-round pick should Ramsey start a certain number of games and perform to a certain level. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 I don't think Kitna is going to find a starting job anymore. He will just have to prob settle for a back up role. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 And if that is the case, he will be right here... Can't say as I would be happy either way. No making me happy I guess. Well, unless Carson is back !!!WHODEY !!! Quote
kingwilly Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 I think just the oppostie. With the extra cap space, teams needing QB help will likely spend a little extra for the security of having a decent back-up or someone to help compete for the starter's role. The savvy GM would gladly burn a couple extra Million on QB security...look how it played out for the Jets last year...or even Bal, Chicago, STL, Detroit, etc.I see him signed by the end of next week to one of the above teams.
