HairOnFire Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Wouldn't mind giving him a 1 year deal for a $1 million...hey what is the worst that can happen? He'll wreck the doughnut budget. The chances of a serious grease fire at PBS will nearly double. And last but not least, where his shadow falls...grass will die. Quote
Indycat Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Don't particularly want this old, over-rated lump of lard taking a roster spot from someone that can actually play football.BTW only Houston had a worse run defense than the Bills. Quote
Spain Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Hey NY you could od what I did. I took all the student loans out I could in college then left the country. Spain Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Try this one out. Go to your autozone in cincy. Ask for an in house price check for portsmouth. Because its hillbillyville the price will drop about 50 percent. Buy the most expensive part you can then return it to another. Because its such a rare thing the protocol f**ks up and you can get about 100 dollars a trip. I cant go in a parts store in Ohio. Completely legal. Watch the protocol felows. Quote

andybren Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 People bark about Ohalete but at least the team got 56 tackles, a pick and a pass defensed for its $540,000.Don't forget the touchdowns he gave up. Those were PRICELESS!BTW, Ted Washington is available, too. He's only 37.And Spain...did you get a good deal on your soul? I hear you can clear 6-figures on that, too. Quote
Spain Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 What the hell you talking about Andy? Wait are you puritanical. Well if it means cheating the sysyem , snnoze or loose. Quote

Columbusbengal Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 The FA pick-ups have, without exception, been "value" picks -- ie, 2nd or 3rd tier FA's. I think he expects relatively little from them other than role playing. As a rule, I believe him when he says that teams overpay for FA's. As such, I think Adams is exactly the type of FA pick-up we would not make. I don't see him being on sale -- if anything, I think whoever picks him up is renting a spot for 2 years max.I agree in general. However, it could be different this year. It will be a buyer's market. There will be a lot of players released due to the salary cap and fewer teams that have room to sign FAs. The Bengals should be one of the more competitive teams that is under the cap enough to sign a players I think if we look around carefully we can get a really valuable defensive player for about what he is worth (he might still be expensive but it won't require OVERpaying). HoosierCat Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Hobson says that Sam is visiting Miami currently; his agent is still trying to talk his way into a meeting with Cincy, but it doesn't appear the Bengals are biting. Looks to me like they have no interest. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 I guess Big Sam is going to play the waiting game to see who will pony up the most cash. Can't say as the Bengals will be that team...Dolphins | Adams to visit TuesdayTue, 7 Mar 2006 06:03:03 -0800Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports free agent DT Sam Adams (Bills) will visit the Miami Dolphins Tuesday, March 7. Although Adams can sign now, agent Angelo Wright said his client likely will wait until Thursday. March 9, the start of free agency and the deadline for clubs to get under the salary cap, before making a decision to see if there will be more money available under the cap.WHODEY !!! Quote
Stripes Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Let Miami have him then. I think we could do better, even in the draft. Too many question marks to warrant the price he will probably end up costing. Quote

The_Next_Big_Thing Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Free agency is going to be a complete mess at this point. Bloodbath combined with guys who want a ton of money, combined with guys who are willing to take almost nothing hoping for no cap last year. Cats and Dogs living together, total chaos! Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Sam Adams...back in black (and purple)??? From the Balti Sun:If the Ravens are unable to retain nose tackle Maake Kemoeatu, they could go after veterans Ted Washington or Sam Adams, who were both released last week. The Ravens have not yet contacted Angelo Wright, the agent for both players.Irony...da spice o' life! Quote
turningpoint Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 be kind of funy if he went back to bmore. Quote
Stripes Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Not sure if Adams would want to do that... Certain exposure would be on the horizon with no Fat Tony there with him. Quote
cover2 Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 How about if we drafted Watson and signed Adams......would that be enough beef? Quote
