El Tigere Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 Now that Nate Clemens is not available. What do guys think about Ahmed plummer????????I think he would be a nice compliment to Deltha Oneal!!!!! Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 I think Tory James is a nice compliment to Deltha O'Neal. I also think Plummer is no better than Tory James. When was the last time Plummer saw a Pro Bowl? Quote
Stripes Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 Agreed with TNBT. I'd rather stick with Tory, and look for a possible future replacement in the draft. Quote
kingwilly Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 If Plummer could stay healthy, he'd be much more attractive. I think he has injury issues and that will prevent him from becoming a bengal. When healthy, he is far superior to Tory and is widely recognized as somewhat of an uderachiever due to his injuries. ArmyBengal Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 Health status is the key. As it stands, he's not an upgrade at this point.WHODEY !!! Quote

LB51 Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 I played High School ball against Plummer and he was amazing then. I realize that was 14 years ago, so it probably has no relevance to this thread.................But anyway, I think that he would be a minor improvement to Tory at best. His best years are behind him as a shutdown corner. Quote
NJ29 Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 He isn't a star by any stretch of the imagination, but at the very least he is a guy who can challenge Tory for a starting job and help solidify the defense. Quote
Spain Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 Marvin said corners are to pricey! Quote
cincy9275 Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 i have to say pass his age and durability issues are to much to sign him to anything but league minimum. if he accepts that than yes. Quote

(like myself) I missed Plummer's days by a couple of years, but remember seeing him play for Wyoming in HS - thought he was a QB or RB from what I recall on offense. I did manage to play against Vinnie Clark, Carlos Snow and Dana Stubblefield though. I'm so old. Quote
BengalChamps Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 SanFran's D was not good. If they let Plummer go, then he must not be worth us taking a look at him. His days in the league may be over. Quote
kingwilly Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 He was cut for two reasons:1. He cost too much. He was due like 5 million or something..and SF has cap issues2. He has had some injury problems that were keeping him showing the value...If he can get healthy, he will definately be on a roster...but for much less than the $$ he had at SF... Quote

kingwilly Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Not in Pitt, they have bad Cap issues..CLE is possible, Miami, NYJ...have a big need for CB's...as does NE. Aother option would be AZ or the Texans. Quote
