Is there some kind of "reserve while he straightens out his life" list we could put him on wherein we keep his rights (hopefully he manages to get through the next 12 months without any issues, yeah, like that'll happen) but don't have to pay him and also then we don't have his cap hit or have to tie up a roster spot for him while he sits (probably in jail) ?

1) Someone to step into the "madman" gunner role that Reggie Myles once played
2) Defense. Not just takeaways, but real we're-tougher-than-you 3 and Out defense.
3) Carson returning only when he is fully healthy and picking up right where he left off last year

So who's Kelli Garner?
-
Lets face it anybody with the name Kingwilly must have an undersized willy.
I think that's very poor logic, GROI
How about this King Willy?

Then there's the drink

or perhaps this cat....maybe it has an undersized willy, though.....

or maybe even a reference to a video game?

As Marvin said, character counts more now than ever.....and he was right.....

the best way to keep discipline on any NFL roster at the current time is to simply keep your entire team the f**k outta Florida.
Here, and I was thinking I'd settle for "keep them outta Covington"
-
Its OBVIOUS that Whitworth was drafted to take Willie's place.
To you, certainly. Not necessarily to the rest of us.
He was a LT at LSU and has been taking snaps there in minicamp already
The only reason I think they might let 2 of the 3 walk is because our backups are so good.Nevermind that little thing known as the salary cap

DRY: DB Jason Alllen, Miami Dolphins
ORY: RB D'Angelo Williams
-
Yep, that's the really really REALLY big news of the day :-)
Poor guy....is there a worse situation in the NFL to try to catch on as a WR than here in Cincinnati?

Bengals | Warfield waived
Thu, 18 May 2006 13:20:31 -0700
The Cincinnati Bengals have announced the team has waived rookie WR Mike Warfield.
-
I'm assuming we waived him a long while back and no longer hold his signing rights?
-
By that I mean we have no backup at Center for the aged Braham...a bad thing.
I am well aware he is the starter, but was expecting him to be supplanted this year by Wilkerson or Ghiaciuc
-
Reading betwen the lines in all this, I note an alarming fact.
The only uninjured center (I count the news about Wilkerson painfully hobbling around on two braces as the same as he is injured) we have is Braham. No, I'm not counting the UDCFA center.
Anyone know anything about Ghiaciuc's "undetermined" injury?
It doesn't suprise me that Larry Moore is injured - I honestly don't recall him ever being healthy during the season - he needs to go.
This may open some playing time for the big rookie OL.....Steinbach would shift to C and he would play LG.
-
*shrug* I never saw that....everything I read said we had drafted a WR
I still rate the overall draft an "F", mind you, but what's wrong with me coming around on Kilmer? Keep in mind my love for good special teams play (look ever so slightly to the left)
-
Barring injury, I still think they'll shop Washington for a draft pick right up through the preseason.
-
...and this is the guy we kept over Bramlet last year.
Dear God.
-
Well, I'm all in favor of Mr Inactive being in training camp and given his last shot to show something. If he doesn't, yeah, release him - please.
-
I am coming around (now that he is rated as a S rather than a WR) on Kilmer, whose speed and enthusiasm on special teams should make him a bigger contributor than Mitchell
I really think it is more a Body vs Kilmer battle, with Body the likely loser

This is about the third time you've tried to call me out
I don't much care if it is the third or three hundred thousandth time.
You tell people to stop talking about a relevant subject, like, oh, I don't know, tight ends, and I will explain to you how the following two opinions are legitimate or not
A) my opinion is that the Bengals don't need a top notch tight end
legit opinion, fine, no problem. Anyone can agree, disagree, etc. Typical board fodder.
my opinion is that no one should be talking about tight ends on this board
not legit, and this is what in essence you were saying. Given that you are a mod here, I would think you would know better.
Expressing your opinion that we don't need a tight end is one thing, but telling everyone here in no uncertain terms (with the added weight of you being a mod) that we should not be talking about tight ends is seriously wrong. Sure, it's an opinion, but it is an opinion that in essence we should not be talking about football on this, a forum designed specifically for talking about football
Some other esteemed poster here wrote earlier that we should all "play nice".
I have the right to type anything i friggin want as long as I follow Bengalszone rules. As a mod, you're probably held to a higher standard, or at least nominally would be on any given internet forum. I don't claim to know enough about the board owner to tell whether his policies are less or more rigid than that. In any case, a board mod should not be telling people that they can't be talking about a purely football topic. Its ludicrous! It's what this board is EXPRESSLY intended for!
Might I suggest if you don't like what I type YOU skip it.Not when you're acting in this threatening fasion
I have a right to my opinion just like you do.You certainly do, but should you even be here at all, much less a mod, if you feel people should not be discussing a football topic? That was the opinion you expressed. Should someone who doesn't want people discussing football topics even ever log in to a football-related discussion board?
If you paid attention and read as much as you claim to do you'd realize it's a joke.It wasn't stated as such. Perhaps you should include smilies or other indications in such messages that you are joking.

Oh, quit crying over spilled milk. It's over, he's a Bengal. Now, let's put our 99cent Wendy's Frostee and Wretched's love child Henderson to rest.
Err, I'm sorry, is this a discussion board where we can discuss things of interest to us - not necessarily to you, but to the individual reader/writer - or is it not?
-
Well, actually, as a mod boomer does have a responsibility to at least look through as many threads as he can
Yeah, sorry, I missed that....but I read his message as saying "stop talking about Tight Ends"....err, uh, this is a discussion board, is it not? Disagree with the topic, not about whether or not the topic is discussable
end of rant.
-
Get off the ##### talk?
This is a message forum
For talking, albeit in written form
Might I suggest that if you don't like a subject, you skip reading it? You are not required by the terms of your membership here to read/review each thread.
Suggesting that we shouldn't trade for or otherwise acquire Graham is a legit gripe to post
Suggesting that we shouldn't TALK about trading for or otherwise acquire Graham is NOT a legit gripe to post.
Not that I am an admin here, but the whole purpose of the existence of this forum is to discuss things. To suggest not discussing things is inane.

Cofield wasn't the player picked after Rucker.
Yep, my bad, I transposed what happened with Peko with what happened with Rucker. Take a look at who was picked after Peko.
I would have gladly accepted any of the following in place of Rucker
DE Adeyanju
TE Byrd
LB Wilkinson or Williams (J or L, L preferrred)
WR Williams (as long as they took not a single other WR)
DT Watson
S Bing
This remains a really awful draft
Season's at risk. Must cut losses!

I assume some of Chris's salary and incentive dollars could be used to power the contract extensions of one or more of the OLs?
