I'm not calling you out Bob, or anyone else for that matter. I've always liked your posts.
I appreciate that.
I think perhaps sparring with Barb has left you a little bitter. Can't beat 'em, join 'em. F**k it.
Honestly, it doesn't matter what is posted because someone is going to come along and rip your (meaning anyone's) well thought out post to shreds instead of discussing it decently and offering alternative opinions. All too often it is a complete rip.
So what the hell?

Still don't see Sharon though.. damn.
Sharon's gone bro.

but this is definitely an improvement over the squad photo
Absolutely an improvement! Not Maxim quality, but better than we're used to.

why all the hate?
Why not? No one is spared on this site regardless of what they posted.

Ouch.
I'd say we have a pretty "physically capable" team.
I'd be interested to know which people, in particular, are physically unable?
I always thought they were just getting themselves out of position by over pursuing, etc., trying to make the big play.

As if to underscore the importance of it, the Bengals defense left the practice field about five minutes after the offense Thursday to put in some extra work against formations.
First, I'm hoping it was a typo and he meant to write 50 minutes....at least 50! How about 150! More...sure!
Second, if the offense had left the field, whose formations were they practicing against?? I would assume the scout offense team consisting of backups.

Oh Dude. What happened there went far beyond the definition of revenge. That was a full can of "Whoop-ass" opened up on 'em, topped off by a big fat topping of "Bitch-slapping!"
Yeah, I loved every second of that! I only root for the Bengals, period, but I'll always root for the Browns over the Ravens. Art Modell is scum.

Seeing Barry in another uniform would simply not be right. I hope he decides to retire and the Reds give him a proper farewall in Cincinnati. So the fans can properly send him off...with a 60 minute standing ovation!
Calling him to tell him was a slap in the face IMO. Barry deserved much better than that.

According to the ESPN Scoreboard, here is how they match up:
...........Offense...Defense.....PF......PA
CIN......21st........21st..........16.5...23.8
CLE......30th........22nd.........16.4...19.2
Perhaps our 21st ranked defense (with a bye week to help keep the totals down), which practiced an extra 5 minutes, can handle the 30th ranked Browns offense.
Actually, I think this is the start of the rebound for this season. We've got guys back from injury which helps. I agree with the revenge factor too.
And whenever Chad makes any kind of statement, pepto or otherwise....good things usually follow!

What is your reasoning?
I have none and do not care to get one...I was just having fun.
Feeling the Friday Freakies...
Anyway, so what?

Blow: You are seriously barking up the wrong tree here.
Like Barbarian pointed out, yes you are 4-0. I loved how you blew away the winless Bills...oops...wait a minute...you squeaked out a last minute FG to win.
4-0 is great. I wish we were 4-0, enjoy it while it lasts!
The Jets next 12 games:
49ers (Ooo, a powerhouse team!)
@Patriots (You're gonna get bitch slapped in this one)
Dolphins (Ooo, another powerhouse team!)
@Bills (Will either the Dolphins or Bills have won ANY game by now???)
Ravens (Ray Lewis...ouch! hehehe)
@Browns (Damn, just how easy is your schedule?)
@Cardinals (It just keeps getting easier!)
Texans (Not as easy as others, but not a playoff contender that's for sure)
@Steelers (Can you stop the bus?)
Seahawks (They sucked on the road last year, how about this year)
Patriots (Another bitch slapping)
@Rams (Who cares)
Pretty sweet schedule the Jets have.

I'd be careful if I were you...MB just might want his cut.

The Bengals started practice this afternoon with just four players not in uniform, but one of the four, wide receiver Peter Warrick, was downgraded to out for the game Sunday at Cleveland.
Warrick, who has a shin injury, is one of three players who will not play because of injury; safety Rogers Beckett and cornerback Rashad Bauman are the others.
Center Rich Braham (knee) was upgraded to probable today on the injury report. Defensive lineman Carl Powell and safety Kim Herring remained questionable (a 50-50 chance of playing).
Herring and Braham practiced today, but Powell did not.
Herring said this afternoon that he expects to play Sunday and would be surprised if he didn't.
Juggling the lineup is not a problem because of injuries, coach Marvin Lewis said.
"It's not trickier because if they don't practice, I don't count on them. That's the easiest part," he said. "We're not going to count on guys because, ultimately, at the end I decide whether or not they get to play."
Original article: Shown in it's entirety above
I thought Warrick's injury would be quicker to bounce back from. I wonder if we are going to see him back anytime soon.
Has anyone heard anything about Weathersby? I know he is gone for the year, but how is he doing? Dude has some serious bad luck.

I would say Brat was DIRECTLY responsible for the Bengals not making the playoffs last year.
IMO: The defense was more directly to blame. Perhaps thats why 6 picks were used in the draft.
In the last Ravens game last year an offensive lineman went down, the Ravens streamed in from that side to knock Kitna all over the place and disrupted the run. Perhaps we didn't adjust accordingly, but that is history.
The 49ers game showed the defensive problems. Even though we won it it was a shootout. Brat called a great game there as I recall. The defense gave up a lot of yardage. It was down hill for that unit after that.
Our last four games of 2003 we were 1-3:
Bengals 13 Ravens 31
Bengals 41 49ers 38 W
Bengals 10 Rams 27
Bengals 14 Browns 22
The defense gave up a lot of points. After the 49ers game the offense, defense, and special teams struggled. We ran out of gas, but came oh so close.

Yeah...I wish Chad would just let his numbers (or final score) do all the talking too.
Last years guarantee over Kansas City was bold. I think he did it to fire up the Bengals and for when they DID win, no one could say the Chiefs got caught looking past the "Bungals".
Still, shut up and play.
Paul Brown: When you lose, say little. When you win, say even less.
I guess he should have also said: When you are preparing to play them this week, shut the f**k up entirely!
Right Barb?!

seems I'm not the only one not getting a lot done this afternoon!
Guilty! Don't tell anyone though!
-
Yes, but are you counting on the bengals putting up 35 plus points like they did in those 2 games?!?!?!?!?!?
I don't think Garcia is going to put up those kind of points either. Different years/different personnel for Garcia.

There is an article on SI about Chad Johnson having fun with the Cleveland DBs:
An excerpt:
The Cincinnati Bengals' brash wide receiver, known for his quick feet and bold predictions, sent each of Cleveland's four defensive backs a care package containing a handwritten note and a bottle of pink Pepto Bismol."I think some of the guys are taking it personal," said Browns cornerback Daylon McCutcheon, who got a good laugh out of Johnson's gesture. "But I think for the most part, he (Johnson) is not an in-your-face guy. He just likes to have fun. He enjoys playing football. He's a jokester."
Sounds like Chad is ready to have a big day!

Garcia always has great games against us
How many times have we played against Garcia? I thought last year was the first?

Hmmm. Someone else around here was saying something just like this awhile back in the Reds Forum. I just can't remember who the heck it was!
Great minds think alike!

JJ: Check out the other thread on Justin: Justin Smith on Bengals.com
As far as him having to be pounding beers to blow a .155: I always thought if you had recently had a beer you would have a high number. A blood test is more conclusive. Falling down during the sobriety test is pretty conclusive too! (Justin didn't, was just stating a fact. Like watching a COPS episode. "Have you been drinking tonight Sir? <hickup> "Who me?")

I'm thinkin' tackling the opponent when they have the ball and are attempting to advance it forward would be a good start.
I nominate TCR for Defensive Coordinator!
TCR huddling with the defense on the sideline before they take the field:
TCR: Whoever has the ball in their possesion...wipe them out! Go get 'em boys!!
I like it!
Seriously: That is the area we need to concentrate on.

ONLY ONE EXAMPLE
Too many threads turn into shouting matches and the frustration of repeating yourself over and over again, or defending your comments for the umpteenth time.
Not everyone does it, not everyone does it to certain people's degree. Some may even be trying to be funny.
Who cares? It's all ripping. Hey, it's a forum, it doesn't matter anyway because last time I checked Marvin Lewis is running the team so it really doesn't matter what we all think the team should do. It only comes down to what Marvin Lewis and Mike Brown think.
