  1. Hudson and Sinnett bumped up to the active roster for the game
  2. Here's the thing: we don't know, and frankly can't know, which option is "throwing a Super Bowl window season in the trash." If he plays and exacerbates the strain into a full-on tear, then he's done for the year. Season trashed, barring Browning getting possessed by the ghost of Johnny U. If he sits for 3-4 weeks and comes back healthy with the team at 0-6 or 1-5, season is also probably trashed but, it's not impossible that Burrow rips off 10-11 wins, either. Bottom line, both options suck and no matter what they do there's a depressingly decent chance it will be the wrong thing. If it were my call, he sits. But it isn't and you're probably right that he goes unless his leg literally falls off before the game. I'll be holding my breath every time he drops back to pass.
  3. That they do.
  4. Yeah they were clearly high on him. I’m not panicking or anything, but Myles being a no-show is just one more wet fart in this skid mark of a season. Hopefully they can get their shit together tonight.
  5. Yeah, Murphy is a mystery to me too. His snap counts went up against Baltimore but still nada. Doesn’t have so much as a single assist through two games. I’ve just been listening not watching so I dunno, maybe it’s how they are using him. But yeah it would be nice to see something, anything, from our first round pick.
  6. True. OTOH a loss means we can settle in and get comfortable down here in the basement. Been a while. Gonna have to stock the fridge. They still make Old Milwaukee?
  7. I think the MNF ABC games were supposed to be on ESPN but things got all mixed around in the new tv deal that started this year, or something like that.
  8. Burrow a game time decision.
  9. McCarron in town for a workout, per Baby. hmm…and Green was just in town last week…you know what this means, of course. AJ TO AJ IS THE FUTURE!!!
  10. Burrow listed as limited today.
  11. They brought Sinnett back. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/nfl/bengals/2023/09/22/bengals-sign-quarterback-reid-sinnett-to-practice-squad-as-insurance-policy/70932317007/
  12. Even if he doesn’t start I would expect him to be active as the no. 2.
  13. And the fact they didn’t bother to designate him as protected ought to tell you something, dingbat.
  14. Looks that way. I must have misread Baby’s thread.
  15. QB Will Grier signed to the active roster
  16. Burrow officially DNP today. Jake Brrrrrowning time is coming!
  17. Per Baby, Joe did not throw during the media portion of today’s practice. Hey, Hosteler won a Super Bowl, so why not Jake?
  18. Per Taylor, Burrow still dealing with soreness today, if he practices today it’s unlikely to be full go. Now in his press conference he’s expressing confidence in his backups.
  19. Yeah, I can see that. I've always through there were a couple other contributing factors. One is the tailgating culture that has grown up around sporting events and particularly NFL games. It's all about getting to the stadium as soon as the lots open and pounding beers until game time. There are some pretty simple ways to stop this but teams don't seem to have any interest in doing so. The second, related issue I think is the stupid high cost of a beer at your average sports venue. It encourages people to get hammered before the game (and so contributes to the tailgate issue) or sneak in their own alcohol (usually high-proof spirits like Army cites) and you end up with a far more liquored-up crowd than you would have if beers were five bucks and they quit selling after the half.
  20. Vote for Charlie! https://www.nfl.com/voting/rookies/
  21. All-whites for the Rams game.
  22. Zac didn't rule out sitting Joe yesterday.
  23. Breech makes the case for sitting Burrow https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/why-putting-joe-burrow-on-injured-reserve-might-be-best-way-for-bengals-to-save-their-season/ The most compelling part of the argument is probably this:
  24. Well, might not have to worry about Chubb til next season. That looked ugly.
  25. The D had a decent first half after the initial Ravens TD drive. They also had a potentially game-changing turnover stripped by the refs on an iffy hands to the face call. Second half did have a couple big breakdowns. There was the long bomb to Flowers, which sucks but it's going to happen, the other team gets paid to play, too. Much more aggravating was getting the Ravens in 2nd-and-23 and not being able to get off the field. And that play points up something about the rushing yards: about a third came from Lamar. The QB of this week's opponent is...not Lamar. Oh, and their stud RB was out with an ankle injury. We'll see if he plays Monday. So I have some hope for the run D this week.
