  1. Scrolling through bengals twitter for the first time in forver. Per the rumor mill, OT Devin Cohran in getting the axe. Ditto OT Andrew Coker. TE Cam Grandy making the final 53 for now.
  2. McLaughlin out. imo will almost certainlymake the PS if he gets through waivers. Not sure any team is going to give an active roster spot to a guy still working back from injury but who knows. https://www.cincyjungle.com/cincinnati-bengals-news/173165/seth-mclaughlin-injury-ohio-state-alabama Njongmeta cut. https://www.cincyjungle.com/cincinnati-bengals-news/173210/maema-njongmeta-waived Bummer. Hope he makes the PS.
  3. You can certainly make the argument that there were other options than, say, keeping Trey or re-signing Tee, but that would actually have been what they usually do. And the results are usually bad. Think Housh or Whit or Zeitler or Reader or Bates. The list goes on. There's a player still playing at a high level, but they decide he's too old and/or too expensive, so he goes and then they spend years and multiple draft picks and FA signings trying to fill the hole they just opened up. I'm happy we aren't adding Higgins or Hendrickson or both to that list this year.
  4. Daijahn Anthony getting stashed on IR for at least September. https://www.cincyjungle.com/cincinnati-bengals-injuries/173187/daijahn-anthony-ir
  5. Good write up on the whole affair from Dehner today. Interesting note: Yeah I would have passed on that too.
  6. Breer had a bit of detail on the deal today. $29 million base. $1 million more if Trey plays 60% of defensive snaps AND the team makes the playoffs. Confirmed there is not a no-tag clause.
  7. Ridder getting cut. Might find his way to the taxi squad. https://www.wlwt.com/article/cincinnati-bengals-desmond-ridder-cut-2025-season/65899518
  8. Yeah, you can (and I do, often) bitch about the FO, but there's no arguing that they took care of business this offseason, resigning Jamarr and Tee and getting Hendrickson in the fold. There were lots of talking heads who assured us back in February and March that there was no way they could do that. So yeah, fuck them.
  9. Hey Army any thoughts on G Kenyon Green? I know he busted pretty fast with Houston, got traded to Philly a few weeks back and now the Eagles are cutting him. Doesn't sound promising but he's still young and a former first-round pick. Not too many of those floating around.
  10. Ok, CJ says no no-tag clause. Lol. Tag would be $36m, so the Bengals can make this a two-year $66m deal if they want. Trey and his agent remain geniuses /s
  11. Our long national nightmare is finally over. I'm fine with it. Actually I think I suggested something like this back at the start as the easiest solution: Trey gets a big bag, the Bengals aren’t on the hook beyond this year. Everyone is happy. Then Trey got on his long term security kick and I figured it was a dead option. My only question is whether there’s a no-tag clause. Assuming the whole additional $14m hits the cap this year, Bengals still have $13m in cap space.
  12. First cuts: *Waived the following 11 players: --DT McTelvin Agim --CB Nate Brooks --WR Cole Burgess --HB Quali Conley --S Shaquan Loyal --WR Rashod Owens --C Andrew Raym --CB Lance Robinson --G Andrew Stueber --QB Payton Thorne --LB Craig Young *Released the following vested veteran: --DT Taven Bryan
  13. Yah, that was the excuse for stashing him on IR to start. Meanwhile, as we wait for cuts, the Hendrickson rumor mill continues to churn. Apparently they are now kicking around a one-year deal. Fine by me, just get it done.
  14. One name pops to mind: AJ McCarron. All the draftniks had him going in the second or third round, but he ended up falling to the fifth round because he was a cocky a**hole in interviews. Then you had a loud contingent of fans agitating for him over Dalton, hanging "AJ to AJ is the future!" banners at practices, etc. Apparently Sanders has an even bigger pack of rabid backers who have made Stefanski's life miserable.
  15. Things going just great in Cleveland! https://nypost.com/2025/08/25/sports/kevin-stefanski-responds-to-accusations-hes-sabotaging-shedeur-sanders/
  16. Roster cuts tracker at cbs: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-roster-cuts-tracker-2025-players-released-by-all-32-teams-ahead-of-53-man-roster-deadline/
  17. Clearly we are doomed 0-17 incoming Mike Brown sucks!
  18. FWIW Goodberry has a vid out now covering all of Rivers’ snaps vs DC. Tl;dw yeah it’s preseason but they might have finally got one of those late round flyers right (guard). https://youtu.be/sYBrTiL7zRs?si=r97DT_HfJURRskbV
  19. All I know is that every time we hear, "oh, it will be fine, it's just preseason" type talk, it never turns out to be fine once the real thing starts.
  20. A couple notes from Hobs. BJ Hill scheduled to fully return to practice today. Patrick's injury wasn't as bad as they feared, he's now day-to-day, could go if absolutely needed. (Related: per Conway at the Enquirer, Rivers ran with the first team in practice yesterday.) Murphy, Burton, Gesicki, Sample and Turner also in the day-to-day category. Matt Lee back at practice yesterday.
  21. CBS sports’s John Breech predicts Cincy gets off to a 4-0 start. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/predicting-when-each-nfl-team-will-lose-its-first-game-steelers-outlast-almost-everyone-eagles-lose-early/
  22. Cutdowns are coming so there should be some options to replace Volson. Might even find one of those classic OWUDs (Old Washed-Up Dudes) who could start in a pinch (like week 2 forward!).
  23. Honestly that’s disappointing because burrow playing against dc pissed off Stephen A. Smith and anything that pisses that asshole off is a good idea in my book.
  24. Risner cometh, Risner goeth. Off to Seattle and Pitt in search of the biggest bag.
