per hobson...good news!

The agent for Greg Brooks said Tuesday that his immediate family has been found in Louisiana and that the Bengals cornerback is returning to Cincinnati.

Tyler Prochnow of Golden Peak Sports, said he spoke with Brooks’ mother via a land line Tuesday afternoon “somewhere in Louisiana.”

“As of now, they are fine,” said Prochnow of Brooks’ mother, grandmother, and three-year-old son.

Prochnow said that Brooks’ home in Kenner, La., is missing its roof. That’s where his family gathered to try and avoid Hurricane Katrina when it hit New Orleans a week ago Monday. Brooks, a second-year player from Southern Mississippi, had last spoken to his mother ten days ago. Head coach Marvin Lewis excused him from Monday’s practice so he could deal with the problem on site instead of trying to get through a damaged communications system.

“They aren’t in the same place, but Greg knows that there has been contact,” Prochnow said. “I don’t know how far he got, or if he got to his house. But he is on his way back to Cincinnati.”
