Bengals Prospects.

Recommended Posts

Hello, brand new to the board.

This is my list of players that the Bengals should be looking at in the draft.

In no particular order.

1. Anthony Montgomery - DT - Minnesota. 6-5 315

Beast of DT who does not get the exposure. Is constantly double teamed. A player that offenses must account for on every play.

2. Eric Henderson - DE - Georgia Tech. 6-3 265.

Is a run stopping DE and we have problems with guys going wide on our D. Eric solves those problems. Has great hands and disengages from blocks quickly. Very powerful player who is dedicated to working hard. Extremely intelligent player/student. Awards for Academic excellence.

3. Domata Peko - DT - Michigan State. 6-2 320.

The Anit-Askew. Is from the same college as Mathias. Peko has a tremendous motor, always hustles and never quits no mattter the score. Draft him to develop and have his work ethic rub off on Askew.

4. Jonathan Joseph - CB - South Carolina.

Still a bit raw but one of the best true "cover corners" in college. Not much gets past Joseph or teams have just stayed away from him.

5. Donte Whitner - SS - Ohio State. 5-11 205.

Film room junkie, imagine having David Pollack at saftey - Whitner is it. Great tackler who lays the wood. Height is not an issue. Covers and supports the run, does both exceptionall well.

6. Chris Harrell - SS/FS - Penn State. 6-2 210.

A player that has some played CB, a lot of SS and FS during college. He's already shown how flexible he is in the secondary and Marvin COVETS guys like this. Talented pass defender and physical against the run.

7. Cooper Wallace - TE - Auburn - 6-4 265.

Very Heath Miller like type of TE. Will just run you over. Will move the chains and pile trying to tackle him. Run blcoking is a strength.

8. Erik Gill - TE - Pittsburgh - 6-5 270.

Exact same as Wallace except with a little more speed. Caught an 80 yards TD pass vs. S. Florida. Also a very strong run blocker.

I really like Harrell. He'd be awsome in the 3rd.

He's just a Marvin type guy who's gotten lost among Zemetis, Phillips, Pluznusky (sp?), Robinson, Hali.

He is already that versitle saftey that Marvin COVETS, he's spent a lot of time playing FS and SS, so the transition will not be that diffucult and he won't be learning anything new.

He's also played some time at CB and could be used in an emergency situation.

I really think Marvin just passed on a saftey last year because he knew of the saftey talent that was going to be in this draft.

He took the gamble of playing without a pair of great safties in 2005 to get a great one in 06 to team with Williams...it backfired with Williams AND Herring both getting put on IR in 2005.

I also think thats what he's been doing with DTs. Marvin just does not like any of the DTs that the drafts have had to offer. I can't really think of any great DTs that have been drafted since Marvin has been our HC. This year is pretty stocked with DTs and I look for us to take 2 DTs throught the draft.

Marvin would have drooled if Wilfork had fallen to us in 04' but he was picked by NE 3 spots ahead of us. When NE picked Wilfork we traded down for Perry.

Wilfork is really the only 1st round DT in the past three years to become a starter.

Here's a list of the players the Bengals should consider: www.all_eligible_players_in_the_draft.com

:P

Give me a break. We have seven picks. We have particular needs that, while still very much up for debate as to priority, I will list thusly:

1: S/DT (both positions are critical in this draft for the Bengals)

2: TE (2 FAs; questionable contributors currently on the roster)

3: CB (one is aging and we need to look to the future)

4: DE depth

5: LB depth

If we take one each of the above positions, that accounts for 6 picks. So please, put some thought around how you "flick the mashed potatos of your fork."

Well, like I said, Don't take it to seriously.

I'd really rather see us pick up a good DT in FA so we don't have to draft a DT so early. I'd like a guy who will UNQUESTIONABLY be able to contribute to the team right away. Ma'ake Kemoeato is who I'm hoping for.

I still wouldn't mind a Tory James for Dan Wilkinson trade with the Lions.

I also really wouldn't mind if ML traded our 1st round pick away for some 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks. There is just SO much talent in those rounds I'd like to pick twice in each round.

If we traded our 1st rounder, got a 2nd, 4th and 5th rounder THEN also got compensation for KW in the 3rd...thats TEN draft picks we could have.

I would love to be able to take 10 players from this LOADED draft. Imagine the talent that Marvin could find....

This scenario would not be too bad.

Isn't every team looking at this draft and licking its lips if the talent is so deep? Think they will be willing to give up tons of draft picks?

Just wondering...
