NJ29
If the Squirrel signs an offer sheet that matches us, we get a third round pick in compensation, correct? Maybe it's lower than that, but either way, an extra third or fourth round pick could be a very big deal for us. What could we pick up there? schweinhart
The Bengals would get a 3rd round pick if they tender K-Dub to the RFA minimum of $650 some-odd thousand, another team signs him to an offer sheet for more money, and the Bengals don't match it. If that happens, then the Bengals get the comp pick where they drafted K-Dub -- 3rd round. It's entirely possible that another team covets K-Dub enough to do this. But it's also possible that teams will opt to wait, meaning that no offer sheet comes back and K-Dub's rights revert back to the Bengals some 2 weeks before the draft when the RFA deadline is. At that time, the Bengals can trade K-Dub and if that happens they probably can only expect to receive a 4th at the best.Plenty of good ball players still on the board at that time. A second 4th round pick would give the Bengals a great shot at quality upgrade at TE.
Tasher
Comp Picks are tacked on at the end of the 3rd round, I believe.
BlainThePain
The 3rd and 4th round is a great place to find quality corners. Ricky Manning, Dejuan Groce, Terrence McGee, Asante Samuel, Ike Taylor, and Rashad Bauman were all 3rd or 4th round picks lately.
NJ29
I hope that we can pick up Addae witch a comp pick that we can get.
bengalindian
Marvin loves those draft picks, so if he can get an extra one, I think he'll take it.
ArmyBengal
If we had an extra day one pick, I would love it to go something along the lines of...DT, S, DE, CB Marvin and staff will find the talent...WHODEY !!!
DesperateDerelict
Comp Picks are tacked on at the end of the 3rd round, I believe.Actually, Comp picks are at the end of the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th rounds, based on a convoluted and somewhat subjective valuation of the players "worth" - Squirrel would probably be a 4th or 5th rounder. remember, Takeo was only a 3rd! Stripes
With the Henry incident, the question posed by this thread is almost certainly no longer relavent. How do you folks think this will affect our draft? Do we grab a wideout in the 3rd-4th round range?
Kazkal
If we keep Kdub no WR inless we find a steal in rnd 3-5 but then again henry was a steal
Tasher
Ew, ew, I know, maybe we resign the real P-Dub in FA!

How do you folks think this will affect our draft? Do we grab a wideout in the 3rd-4th round range? It does make K-Dub's RFA tender all that much more interesting. But I'm not so sure the relevance of the thread is gone because the Bengals would be in a position to upgrade a position other than WR in the 3rd that they might have otherwise tried to earlier if they tender K-Dub the minimum, decide not to match and get a 3rd in return. Whur CHad At?
I really don't think that we will get anything for KWubb. I Doubt anyone will seriously take him. But if he does and we do get a 3rd rounder, I would like to see us take a WR. Marvin said one of the areas of the draft that he would like to look at is WR.So I would take Sinorice Moss from the U, or Devin Hester from the U. Both are lightning fast players, and both play WR, and Hester also plays CB. If we were to get one, or both we would def. have an explosive Punt/Kick Returner to go along with Tab, and also to replace Keiwan.Thats what I would do. But, I am a moron.
