walzav29 Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 I love Kitna's quote,"I don't think it was a top priority for them," Kitna said. "Eight weeks ago, it would have been a lot easier to re-sign here. I feel like God is leading me in this direction."I believe in God. More importantly I believe in Jesus. I just don't think God worries about football. It would have been quite a stage for Kitna to spread the gospel right? The underdog steps in for the Golden boy and with the help of Jesus leads the Bengals to a Super Bowl victory. It would have been great, but Jon Kitna just sucks. I could fast for 30 days, build an arc, and sacrifice a lamb, and I wouldn't be able to throw 30 yards just like Kitna. So whatever it takes Jon. Get out of town. I always love how God pulls you were the money is. How nice of him. Tell God to take Chad with you. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 I'm glad God is telling me to spread the truth about your drug habit Walzav. Amen!Go root for the Browns you anti-fan. Quote
walzav29 Posted January 12, 2006 Author Report Posted January 12, 2006 I'm sorry. Being a fan is liking everyone on the team, because they are funny or swell guys. I just want the Bengals to win a Super Bowl. If that means that they have to get rid of guys that suck, than boo-hoo. It's not a popularity contest you super fan you. Quote

It's not a popularity contest you super fan you.Well said above.I think some people here have a little too much man love for the players on this team and the coaches.I am with Walzav - I want to win a Superbowl - last season is over with - time to take the next step - if the rest of you are happy with the status quo and the same old average-to-bad players who are keeping them from it, then so be it.This is football, these are men, they are millionaires - they are not little fragile girls and they lost the last 3 games of the season miserably.Time to lose man love for some of these players...they are not as good as some people seem to think. One year contract for Kitna at the most - if not - go out and get a vet QB with a good arm who can stretch the field and not fumble the ball 5 times a game. smith288 Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 God leading him to a decision about his career isnt about football. Its about Kitna's life. He isnt praying for a TD, he is accepting his future as a plan set forth by a higher power that could teach him something or give Kitna a new oppurtunity to be used to further God's word. Accept his beliefs or not but to mock them is a tad weak.Kitna is simply saying if God's plan is to move on to another job then so be it. Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Does everyone got it out. Once your done bitching and moaning like my girlfriend does from the 4th to the 11th you can give me some more viable options. As a backup quarterback knowing the offense and the system, the players and the coaches, who would be the better choice? Quote
walshfan Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 the Bengals have to decide if what Kitna will asked for is beyond what they think his value is..there are other options on the free market..It'll come down to dollars and sense....God plays no part in this..he's to busy trying to solve who's going to win between the Bears and Panthers and the Reds pitching delimma.... skyline Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 What happened to the Tim Couch thing? I wouldn't mind entertaining that option... Quote
walshfan Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 What happened to the Tim Couch thing? I wouldn't mind entertaining that option...Couch is working out for allot of teams... He'll take whats best for him and his family. He is from this area so that may play a small part in his plans..By all accounts his shoulder has healed sufficientlly enough for him to play without pain again.yes he is an option.... Jet23 Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 I hate to say it, but it appears as if Kitna will not be back. He has decided to take the 'show me the money' route to beef up the Bengal's offer. He has been a good soldier, but in the end it's always about money. I don't care if he drives around in an orange Fiat, wearing one of those funny orange wigs, he wants to be paid. I don't care if he and Carson trade poetry, he wants to be paid. Marvin has proven that he will not overpay for anyone. I think it is going to take somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 million to sign him for a one year deal. I would like to see the Bengals offer Jon a job within the organization, once his career is over. Kind of like they did Beddinghaus once he gifted them the stadium deal. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 I think you are a bit early in saying Kitna won't be back, or that he's decided to take the 'show me the money' route. He's said he didn't care about the money more than he has said he is interested in leaving. No offer has been made yet, and the time for offers is still a LONG TIME AWAY. Quote
oldschooler Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 In 9 seasons as an NFL QB, Kitna has had 3 seasonswhere he has thrown more TD`s than he has INT`s.Kitna has thrown for 3500 yards in 1 season out of 9.He won "Come Back Player of the Year" that year.Where exactly did he "come back from" ?He was the starter for 12 games the year before ! Kitna has only lead 2 teams to "non" losing records. He has only lead 1 team to the Playoffs and thatwas with a 9-7 record. Kitna has a career QB rating of 75.3.Kitna has only had two seasons were hehad a QB rating over 80. And he never hada QB rating over 87.4.Carson Palmer had a better QB rating than Kitna`s career rating, his first season as a starter.I hope God leads Kitna somewhere. But please God don`t let it be behind centerfor the Bengals EVER again ! schweinhart Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 One year contract for Kitna at the most - if not - go out and get a vet QB with a good arm who can stretch the field and not fumble the ball 5 times a game.Maybe 2 years. All depends on the price. I just hope the Bengals don't burn a draft pick higher than 6th for another QB.Watching the Sounds of the Game on the NFLN the other day and it was just sad to see where Kitna went wrong the worst because it was preventable stuff that he proly wouldn't do if had more playing time during the season. Both his picks were crosses to Housh -- one was thrown at least 5 yards behind Housh and looked more like Kit was trying to throw it away when Polamalu dove to pick it off -- the other was the Farrior pick where it looked like Kit never saw him. On the 1st down sack on the 2nd drive of the 3rd Q, Kitna had Housh wide open on another cross -- no one within 5 yards and he didn't pull the trigger even though he was staring right at it.On the play where he scrambled for 5 minutes vs. a 2-man rush before the ball squirted out of his hands, the game coverage showed Housh wide open on a skinny post and Chris Perry wide open on a go down the hash that he broke out to the sideline deep. They both appeared to outrun Kit's throwing arm and his inability to get his feet set quickly and chuck it vertical. Quote
jjakq27 Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 How about Shane Matthews. He is a FA with Buffalo. He has some familiarity with the team, the system and Carson since he was a backup in 2003. He might come here cheaper than what it would take to keep Kitna and probably not be a major dropoff.BTW, did Casey Bramlet ever get picked up my anyone. I was surprised when he was ousted in favor of Krenzel. Quote
BengalsOwn Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 No, Bramlet wasn't picked up by anyone. That fact alone should clue you in to why he was cut, he sucks ass.Give me one of these guys and I'll be somewhat happy:Josh McCown, Cardinals; Tim Rattay, Buccaneers; Sage Rosenfels, Dolphins; Kurt Warner, Cardinals; Quote

Nothing like taking three steps backwards trying to teach the offense to another hack qb. Have you seen the free agent list?I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but Brett Favre is not coming here. Steve McNair is not coming here. I doubt that even Tim Couch is coming here. We need a qb to be a caretaker until Carson is fully healed. The way I see it, we have two options and one of them is Craig Krenzel. It's as simple as that. Quote
