Junglelove4 Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 Why cant we just accept that Chad really is a good person, great WR, and one of the greatest things that has happened to the Bengals in a long time. Stop expecting Chad to turn into a "T.O." and enjoy his energy, talent, and entertainment he brings to our football team. Quote
buck3y3d Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 to say trading Chad is a bad idea is not entirely accurate.Chad will save us a ton of cap room. Chris Henry is progressing at the same rate, if not faster than Chad was. Chris could be just is good in 2 years. The defense needs alot of help, and not paying Chad opens alot of money. Finally, Chad will probably hold out, and I really don't want the TO saga. The fact is he is human and wants money. I don't blame him, but I don't think the Bengals need him or the attitude on the team. This is not my opinion due to the above incident, but an opinion I have had for a long time.I love Chad the football player, and even like Chad the entertainer, but Chad's mouth creates a lot of turbulent situations.1. Chad will probably NOT hold out. Did you miss the part where he told his agent that he works for #85, and that #85 was not going to hold out? Did you miss the comment by Chad that he expected his agent to get a deal done like Carson's agent did, without incident, or he would be usinga new agent?2. I don't care WHAT you get for Chad in a trade, it's a bad deal. No other WR does what he does to improve the team AND to get the fans excited. No other WR in the league sleeps at the damned stadium to watch extra film. No other WR spends time driving to Indy with their QB to watch the best tandem play so they can improve their game. No other PLAYER shows up before a game hours early to hang out at Longworth Hall's Parking Lot and the Stadium Lots hanging out with fans to get them pumped up for a game. No other player stops at the ticket booth and personally upgrades a young lady's birthday gift to her fiance from a pair of crappy seats for a 2 game package to season tickets up front at his expense.CHAD GOES NO WHERE.No other wide reciever drops as many passes as Chad Johnson either, he just led the league for the second year in a row. I like Chad, but think smart football moves. Even without Chad, we're probably a top 10 wide reciever unit, and did you see Chris Henry on play 1. Did that not look a whole lot like Chad to you? Chris will be a Chad one day, and then will have a whole lot of money invested in recievers. Again, like I said in the other post I really don't care if Chad is traded or not, I'd even root for him as an individual on another team, but as a football move it would not kill the Bengals to trade him. Right now I don't even think any one will offer anything for Chad and so yes, I agree Chad goes no where and that is fine by me. Quote
jjakq27 Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 On the Bengalsline show the other night, Andy Furman made some reference to Chad being Superman and Anthony Mitchell mumbled something about "TJ is Superman." Neither Andy or Dave Lapham picked up on it. I thought it was a very revealing comment about how the guys might feel about Chad in the locker room. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 So let me get this straight. We are better off with Chris "Potshoe" Henry, who may be suspended or imprisoned for being completely STUPID and IMMATURE off the field than Chad Johnson? We are better off with a guy who is accused by the POLICE of doing wrong than a guy who is accused by a rumour mill? How freaking Stupid are you bucky?? Quote

We are better off with a guy who is accused by the POLICE of doing wrong than a guy who is accused by a rumour mill? How freaking Stupid are you bucky??Read the whole thread TBNT. I said this is my opinion regardless of this incident was even true. Then I just said we would still be a top 10 reciever unit (obviously implying we would fall without CHAD). Then, I said one day Henry will be as good as Chad. ONE DAY. Then I said if we could get a trade worthy of Chad I would pursue it. You understand now. In a trade you just don't lose a player, see, you get something in return. That something, with a smart front office, will be as good if not better than what you traded for him. Therefore, I would trade a player from a position we are stacked at (I hope you can agree here) for defensive players were we are obviously weak.Furthermore, I said I didn't care if Chad was traded, but someone mentioned the idea of trading Chad and I stated why I thought this would be reasonable. I think you only read parts of my posts, become so infuriated that someone could be as ingorant as me (a point I really tend to disagree with) and then right an angry response. In fact, I'm not sure you even made it to this line, but if you did I actually said I agreed with you on the last post. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 My point is, to expect anything more out of Henry or to expect him to fill one of Chad's orange shoes next season is foolish. Henry has far more problems with immaturity than anyone else on the squad. Quote
Jet23 Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 Replacing Chad as #1 receiver in favor of Henry, due to character issues, is kind of like replacing your Nanny with Michael Jackson due to pedophilia issues. Quote
Kirkendall Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 Replacing Chad as #1 receiver in favor of Henry, due to character issues, is kind of like replacing your Nanny with Michael Jackson due to pedophilia issues. That's a bit extreme of an example... wouldn't you agree? Quote
Lip_Burger Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 how do you know he doesnt call strife of some sort?Everything he does is for attention to himeself...BULLs**t! Everything he does is to draw attention to his TEAM. Everything he does is to entertain the FANS.Holy crap, are you kidding me? I'm the biggest Bengal fan out here but even I can see that Chad is one of the most self-involved, "watch me" players in the league. How does making a list of cornerbacks who supposedly couldn't cover him draw attention to the team and not himself? How do any of his celebrations NOT draw attention to himself? You really believe that he's doing all that so everyone can find out about the Bengals? You need to get a grip if you believe that. Quote

You need to get a grip if you believe that. What Chad does brings the cameras and reporters to his locker. It puts Chad on the highlight reels. But last time I checkedChad is a Bengal. He has helped Marvin put the Bengals back on the map. And erasethe "Bungle" image. He sleeps at PBS because he stays there so late studying game film.He works as hard as anyone... because he wants to be the best that ever played. And he wants to be a Bengal. His success equals Bengals success. Not so long ago... Jime Rome asked Chad " if he would like totake his show to a bigger market ?" Chad said "Nah... I love it here...I`m going to bring the market HERE."That doesn`t sound like a "self involved" player to me... Quote
Kirkendall Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 More so, perhaps the attention on Chad removes a lot of it from Carson giving Palmer a little more breathing room. Just a thought... Quote
NYBengalfan Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Why would we give this report any credibiltiy, f**k BOOMER !!!! If this were true how come ESPN hasnt said anything on this. Boomer aint a Bengal now, so how would he know what is going on?? Boomer you are nothing but a memory...... a GREAT memory I might add, but you are not a current Bengal right now, dont back up RUMORS that you have no clue about. Quote

Kazkal Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 I've heard so much BS from media / the internet about CJ being just like TO it's such bullcrap and it's a sad day for bengaldom where so many fans are ready to sellout someone whos worked so hard for this team to get it too where it's @ today Division champs,1st playoff in 15years 1st winning record in 15years.....Not having chad woulden't hurt us? he would be easilly replaced? are you on spains crack? he's led the AFC 3 times in yardage if he was on a NFC team I bet you he would be leading the NFL =P all this h8 towards CJ makes carson cry Quote

walzav29 Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 All of us Bengal fans are in serious denial about Chad Johnson. Yes he is great. This incident did happen. I believe Lapham and Boomer. You don't think they know people in the organization? I will guarantee players on this team are sick of Chad's mememe attitude. We've all seen him throw fits about not getting the ball. Just like T.O. and Moss. If he would do that in regular season games you don't think he'd do it in the playoffs? Take the blinders off people. I just hope Marv can get a 1st rounder for him and he goes to the NFC. Quote

You force me to play again.Walzav IS a cross-dresser. You don't think people in the cross-dressing community don't know this? I will guarantee you they are tired of Walzav's failure to properly accessorize.Once again, NO ONE here knows what went on. Hell, Boomer and Lap don't know. Time to let it go. Quote
walzav29 Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 You may think Chad's urine cures the gout, but if he becomes a distraction he will be gone. I'm sure Dillon never did anything to upset anyone either. You big dummy. Quote

I'm sure Dillon never did anything to upset anyone either. You big dummy.Walzav was recently implicated in a drug ring. Sources close to the police station in Lockland say he was selling ground up Rolaids to children claiming it was Cocaine. He's a big dummy.1. Chad says it didn't happen. He was there.2. Marvin implies it didn't happen. Chad played the second half even though it became clear we couldn't win.I'll believe this evidence over a freaking rumor site that says Chad is TO. We know better. As for the celebrations being me me me, BULL. They are to bring attention to his team. The who can cover 85? Self motivating tool. It was for him, and when Marvin took it down, you never heard anything about it again. Yes, he has some drops. Gee, he gets thrown to more than any receiver in the league. Quote
