barnsleypgh Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 If you are a true lover of the game of football like I am, you hate to see anything bad happen to a great player. I hated the Redskins (still do) but felt sick when LT broke Theismann's leg. Same deal here. The problem is you are all watching this in slow motion, and it looks like Kimo intentionally went for Palmer. BUT if you watch it at game speed he was merely trying to sack Palmer. He was stumbling around and there was no way his forward motion could stop him. IF it was intentionally he would have put his HELMET into the knee, not his shoulder. I would much rather have seen Palmer play the whole game and beaten the Bengals fair and square. Not taking anything away from Kitna - he did a great job. It was evident when the Bengals came out of the locker room after halftime that they were dejected. I think most players felt Palmer would be back in the 2nd half. I am sure Palmer will be back next year, and Lewis has done a phenomenal job with the Bengals. They will continue to be a force in the years to come. My best wishes to Carson on a speedy, healthy recovery and we will see you next year. Quote
skyline Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Thanks for the well-wishes, and no...I don't think it was intentional, either. Quote

He was simply giving respect to the Bengals and their fans. Either take the respect and be a classy kind of fan, or be like a Cleveland fan. I dont care what you do, if you want to make yourself look like an ass, go for it. Quote

(same would happen if I lived in Cincy). I am first and foremost a 49'er fan (you may well laugh now...but please remember we DID win 5 Superbowls way back when!!) Quote

Im a pissed off fan.Ok, so you're not a new fan to the site, you just don't have anything to say unless it's stupid? Sorry, but when your first three posts are negative posts aimed at Steelers' fans, you're a troll. A homer troll perhaps, but a troll none the less. Quote

I hope Someone breaks ben you cheap bastards!Quit talking out your anus. It wasn't a cheap shot. It wasn't dirty. It was no worse than what happened when Odell was tripped and hit Ben. Now that being said, the hit on TJ under the goalposts WAS a cheap shot. Quote

You are a troll. Open your eyes, poor baby ben cries? no, Ben didnt cry. He said something to the effect that he thought it was a dirty hit. Kimo's hit, dirty yes, intentional, no. Same with Odell. You tell me when "Cheap show Cowher" has been seen? Apparently you lack in intelligence to see that 1)its football, if it were a game pu**ies could play, you could be a starter. 2)Kitna wasnt the only reason they lost. Quote
Stripes Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Ugh... I apologize for the sour grape here ruining a thread with only good intentions. Thanks for the kind wishes, barsleypgh, and all the same success to your 49ers (unless they end up facing us in the Superbowl AGAIN!) Quote

That was a LONG time ago though, don't be hatin'. I think the Bengals are going to be back to the glory days of Kenny Anderson, Anthony Muniz (who also went down against the Niners with a broken leg if you recall and totally changed the complexion of THAT game).
