skyline Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Was anyone else pleased with his showing tonight? He had two major plays, that showed something of what we can expect from him next year. Quote
Kazkal Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Hopfully he continues and we find our needs on defense Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Pollack looked great! He was pumped and real excited to be in the situation he was in. He gets my game ball tonight Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Pollack made some plays tonight...but he needs more than an outside speed move (shade of Justin). Hopefully next year brings bigger things. Quote
Grendel Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 I thought it while watching, Pollack and Kaesviharn seemed to be the best two on defense today. Quote
UofLnMU Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 I thought KK was getting picked on and thus made tackles. Pollack easily had his best game as a Bengal. With a full training camp, he'll be ready for next season with more refined skills. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 I feel Pollacks coming out party next year. I think he gets 15-16 sacks. Can't wait. Quote
CBin2k7 Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 I don't know about 15-16 sacks, but I do think that he can get 7-10. It just depends on how the Bengals upgrade their defense and how they plan on using him next year. I think Justin Smith is as good as gone when his contract is up and so is B. Simmons I really didn't see too much from either one of them. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 I think they will cut Simmons in the offseason. And J. SMith really pissed me off tonight. Quote
Kazkal Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 when i saw justin play he seemed like he was having good pass rush, but i diden't see the whole game Quote
jjakq27 Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 KK always seems to play well against the Steelers.I would like to hear Spains opinion on the waterboy. I thought he was one of the better players on defense. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Hey KK can make some good plays when they matter....he CAN. Quote
Stripes Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Pollack played very well as far as I could see. He should be a nice sleeper to play well next season. Quote
cincy9275 Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 pollack was ok. kk got burned yesterday kk is a nice guy but he is garbage he gave up a long pass play and a touchdown the steeler knew he was the weekest link why do you think they went at him so much . i think he has played his last game as a bengal. Quote
walshfan Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 KK had a great game?? I think not... He just looks decent compared to Ohlaete... Pollack really does need to learn more moves to be consistant...I could see his play improving next year... Quote
HairOnFire Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Few will admit it, we hold our Bengal grudges too close to our heart, but for about a month now David Pollack has been the better of the two rookie LB's. Quote
derekshank Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Pollack did play a very good game. He will be ready at the beginning of next season, and will be the Bengals LB everyone in the media talks about next year... With out LB core as it is, Madieu back... and hopefully Darnell Bing out of USC (and a DT from FA) our defense will be ready for a superbowl run. Unfortunately, it will depend entirely on Palmer's recovery. Quote

I agree. He is finally starting to show some of his abilities. I think some have speculated that John Thornton's (and even Marvin's) comments were directed at O'Dell. He was unable to stay home and it affected everyone else. Look at two of the TD's. The fleaflicker and the pass to Parker. Misdirection plays that catch the Bengals in overpursuit. Even the incomplete pass from Bettis was a sucker play. And if you look at games between the Bengals and Steelers over the last five years, Pittsburgh has run those type of plays successfully. I was surprised that they didn't more of those types of plays in the game at Pittsburgh. Quote

skyline Posted January 9, 2006 Author Report Posted January 9, 2006 He led the team in tackles yesterday, which I hadn't realized. He and Thurman both had 8.That's really what I want to see out of him. I'm hoping he develops into a 120+ tackles per season guy along with 5-8 sacks to make him a complete player. After we commited to making him a LB, I'd hate to see him used only as a pass rusher. Quote

TecmoFever Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 I think some have speculated that John Thornton's (and even Marvin's) comments were directed at O'Dell. He was unable to stay home and it affected everyone else.If I remember correctly, Thornton specifically said that it wasn't the rookies, but some veterans. Marvin, on the other hand, may have been directing towards Odell. By the way, it's Odell without an apostophe. He's not Irish. (of course neither is Deltha O'Neal) Quote
