1. Resign Steinbach, restructure Willie's contract, and resign Levi

2. Trade Kelly Washington for a 3rd/4th round pick to maybe the Eagles, who need a WR desperately

3. Draft the following, in this order

(1)Safety (Michael Huff (Texas), Darnell Bing (USC), Laron Landry(LSU))

(2)DT (If Ngata (Oregon) is available in 1st rd when we pick, take him/ Claude Wroten (LSU)- his stock will slip b.c of marijuana/ Gabe Watson(Mich))

(3)TE (Tim Day (Oregon), Dominique Byrd (USC), Joe Klofenstein(Colorado))

(3)QB (DJ Shockley (Georgia), Brad Smith(forgot his college))

(4)DT(Anthony Montgomery)

(5)OT(anybody)

(6)Punter(Tom Malone (USC))

4. Don't resign Kitna

5. Kill Ohalete

Palmer better be ok from that ACL tear.

Cheer up, guys, the defense can only get better next year. :sure:

Offseason priority should be for Marvin Lewis to sit down with Brat and explain to him how Rudi Johnson is still on the team, if he doesn't understand that, then he can go find work else where.

After that, Kyle Larson should go, and Ohalete as well. Odell should study film the entire offseason.

Draft 2 safties, and a CB replacement for Tory James, I see no replacement on the roster.

Biggest thing is to not got so down, because these Bengals are going to be near the top for a while. I remember Peyton Manning once losing a playoff game 41-0

I can't speak to specific playres in the draft (paging bengalszone.com draft gurus schweiny & chrish, schwieny & chris please report to the draft room, please!) but I absolutely love your overall strategy. All I would add is: dedicate whatever $$$ is needed to grab the top FA DT, DE or S...obviosly this could impact draft strategy...but the bottom line is that we are finally "one or two players away." Time to make some moves.

well if im correct it is the better of the 2 to tear now if it was his MCL then you could say goodnight to carsons QB days luckly it wasent.

anteria cruciate ligament sounds nasty but soccer players get these and it usally takes 3 months to rehab from.

Draft Strickly Defense...Ok maybe draft a Good TE early.

Draft Darnell Bing 1st round Gabe Watson 2nd

Fire Breshnahan

Bring in Mike Singletary

Kill Thorton, Ohalete, and Brad St Louis

Sign some good FA's

Thats My plan!

I thought they said he tore both his ACL and MCL,

That was my impression as well. However, the bengals.com article only mentions ACL. Maybe the announcers made a mistake.

I'm torn between saying we need to make DT or S our first priority in free agency and/or the draft. Safetys were the glaring weakness this season, but we have to keep in mind that our top two players have been hurt for the majority of the season. That said, we can do better than Herring as a starter.

That said, it sure would be nice to have a diruptive presence in the middle of our line, don't you think?

I do think they should use a late round pick on a strong arm QB with potential. The backup for this team needs to be able to run the show, Nothing against Kit, but there are throws he can't make and it makes this offense very easy to defend. You take away the middle of the field against him and we are pretty much screwed.

5. Kill Ohalete

That was the word going around the press box b/c of a "source close to the situation".

Marvin just commented though that it "looks" like an ACL tear... still not confirmed. The MRIs are supposedly still happening.

if it was both he is not playing ever again period he will find it hard to walk let alone run.

Willis McGahee tore both. What's he doing know?

Acutally, we do need a good CB...I say draft one in the third round, I think we could get Shockley in the 4th...not too many teams are drafting right now for a backup. That guy from Texas, I'm gonna say...Cedric Griffin, had a huge game against USC in the Rose Bowl...I would love to have him, although I really don't even know if he's going to the draft. But yeah, we do need a CB, real bad. All the big plays were all Tory's fault (along with our safeties, but we already knew they sucked) I don't know how Keiwan is doing in terms of becoming a starter. He got burned a couple times in the KC game, but he's a solid Nickelback.

DRAFT MICHAEL HUFF AND CEDRIC GRIFFIN

first what we need to do is for Marvin to evaluate his coaching staff . brat he can not adjust to what teams are doing defensively. if his game plan doesn't work we get in to serious trouble today being a perfect example . bresnahan this guy is terrible he can't call a good game to save his life . lb's coach we have to much talent at this position to struggle this bad . dline coach well i could go on for days there just pitifull . now as for players we have to get some studs at the dline guys that can free up our lb's a good te and some help at safety these things are a must if we want to improve next season

I'm not ready to crucify Bres. The announcers tonight were talking about how he was warning the defense of exactly the types of things that we saw happen. Sounds more like player error to me. Give him another season to prove himself with some better players, and let's take it from there.

As for Brat, I refuse to blame our offense for much of anything this year.

On another note, I love Ratliff, but we need a different punt returner. He just didn't get it done this year.

Skyline, I Disagree with you about Bresh, i think the guy need to be packing his things out of his office right now. But I agree, with you about Keiwan. He is a terrible Punt Returner...I mean did he ever return one for like 10 or more yards this season?? I don't know what happened to him, he was great in college but not in the NFL. He should just stick to Defense.

Anyone up for Drafting David Hester in the 3rd round??? That gives us a pretty dangerous return threat.

Agreed. It wasn't Chuckie's fault this year any more than it was Frazier's fault last year. The problem is a lack of talent on defense. If Bresh was HC and Marvin Dc we'd have had the same results.

I will say this about Martszkowski: when his calls work, they work to perfection. But they rely on lots of posessions (which is why turnovers were so important this year) and lots of success in the passing game (i.e. very accurate QB, very few drops by WRs). When that doesn't come...he pushes. The idea of pounding the ball on the ground is like asking him to chug castor oil. Brat has done wonderful things for the passing game...but I am beginning to be convinced that he is far too one-dimensional.

On another note, I love Ratliff, but we need a different punt returner. He just didn't get it done this year.

There's always Deltha...or how about Chris Perry???

To me it looked like Kevin Kaesviharn was doing more than the others in the second half. Even with a bad interference call. If keeping one safety, keep him. :bengal:

Am I the only one who thinks that pass interference call (which was legit) saved a TD?

Ohalete, you've blown your last big play. Give Neil Rackers a call, maybe he can give you some advice.

And I would love to see the Bengals trade up to get a real defensive stud.

I just think there is a serious lack of speed in the secondary. Devin Hester may be an interesting prospect, for this team I think he would fit best a CB, but he would need some serious work. If you could get him in the late rounds than I say go for it.

I am not on the Keiwann bandwagon, I don't think he will ever be the starting CB for this team, and if you match him up against any speed threats then he is really exposed.

With all that said, some of the weaker CB's in the league look good with just a semblance of a pass rush, that is the first major upgrade that needs to transpire in this offseason. How about a Darren Howard, his price will not be John Abraham like, but he is productive and has had some good seasons.

I agree...Bring in Darren Howard, or someone who can bring pressure on the quarterback.

I think we need to do something with Tory James as well...he gets beat way too much. I also think we should at least bring back KK because he is a class act and can at least play safety if we need him too. And he was a subsitute teacher... :)

1. They had an excellent Plan-B when Palmer got knocked out. Why did they stray away from what was working in the 1st half? Mainly a controlled short passing game. They had a lead and could have protected it. But they put themselves in 2nd/3rd & long situations when they didn't have to. Who ever called those plays in the 2nd half blew it BIG TIME. This put pressure on the defense and caused them to over-pursue.

2. We got no pass rush. A pass rush would help free up the DBs IMMENSELY. We don't need to draft in this area. We need to Acquire quick jumbo veteran DLs through free agency, two or three will do. At least there could be some pressure in hurrying up the pass and free up the DBs for more field coverage, a blitz or even shadowing a mobile QB.

3. It was good in the 1st half, but their tackling became non-existent in the 2nd half. They better work on that. Maybe having them chase a chicken or greased pig around the field for training might help.

1. Cut Ohalate. Ohalate is soo bad that they seriously should have entertained putting Tab Perry or Patrick Body back there. Ohalate is the worst starting football player in the league.

2. Ratliff cannot be the punt returner next year. (He runs slow on punt return, to busy looking for cuts, instead of just going) Maybe we can use a draft pick just for the specialty of a good punt returner. Basically draft the best punt returner in the draft

3. Get SS either through draft or FA (Again, Ohalate is done)

4. Cut St. Louis (no sense in paying a guy just to long snap and he can't do his specialty when it matters) (Your roster spot is a waste)

5. Hate to say it, but consider trading Kitna. He looked undesicive, (make your read and make a good throw). His arm is weak. This offense must have the ability to go deep affectively.

Rolling with Kitna is like rolling dice. You never know what to expect. Either he is on his game, or he is just terrible. Kitna at times, does some bone head mistakes. And as a fan it is just too frustrating to watch. Qb position is the one position where consistency is a must. Consistently bad may be better than consistently 50/50 because at least you know your limitations. Trade him and get good value.

6. Draft a TE (it would be nice to get that TE from Maryland) or convert Kelley Washington.

7. Don't let Kim Herring near the traing camp. (for some reason Marvin won't let this pipe dream go. Herring is injury prone, time to move on.

8. Keep the O-line intact

9. Figure out, why is it every year we can't stop the run? (this should be #1)

10. Definately draft a QB if you don't feel confident about Bramlet or Krenzal. (Stay away from Marcus Vick)

11. Burn those black unis.

12. Give Weathersby a call.

13. What's wrong with drafting a CB with the first pick, move Tory James to FS and Madieu Williams to stong? (Don't laugh, we got to do something because this isn't working)
