BENGALTHEM Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Would you rather have Shaun Smith or Bryant Robinson starting and does anyone know if Nate Webster is going to get any run?I like Shaun Smith, but now maybe a healthy and rested Robinson can come up big. They'll probably just rotate them half and half so it probably doesn't matter who get's the start. It would have been nice to see Webster get some run in the K.C. game. I feel like he was coming into his own last year before he got hurt. Quote

jungleman Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 i think we will see nate get some time. also i like shaun smith in the game to stuff the run. Robinson is expected to play. Quote
walshfan Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 By all accounts if Robinson is ready to go he'll start...The work Smith got in while Robinson was hurt now seems invaluable..They can rotate the DT's and keep them fresh...Not sure what Webster brings to the table anymore.... Quote
buck3y3d Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 I want Smith in there on running downs, otherwise I feel he is too slow to play on the pass rush (which we don't have). Smith (Shaun not Justin) is are best run stopper. Quote
Stripes Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 I agree with Walshfan... They're in great position to rotate now, and stay fresh all game long. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 I'd like to see Smith AND Robinson in together with Thornton on the sideline. Quote
Indycat Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 I'd like to see Smith AND Robinson in together with Thornton on the sideline.Agreed, Smith AND Robinson in together on running downs. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 I want to see the more experienced Robinson start if at all possible. The Steelers WILL try to establish the running game to control the clock and keep Carson and company off the field. As we saw in the last matchup, take away the running game and Big Ben and the Steelers aren't all that good. Force them to try to play catch up on the arm of Roethlisberger. That's how you beat Pittsburgh! Quote
HairOnFire Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 Robinson, if he's healthy. Smith has earned plenty of reps and the Bengals will be well served to develope a rotation and keep both players fresh. And last, I'm a big fan of Webster and I'm glad he's made it back, but I think he represents little more than emergency depth this late in the season. Quote
derekshank Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 I disagree with Smith and Robinson in on running downs. I know we all hate Thornton... and he has way underproduced... but he is the only DT that gets penetration on the line. Smith is big, so that's nice... but he wears down, so having Robinson to keep him fresh gives us a much greater edge than we've had all year on the DT (which still isn't much) Quote
jjakq27 Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 Don't forget Jonathan Fanene. He had a good game last time they played. Quote
