Spain Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 All I here is how our D sucks and cant stop the run. They suck. Well its simply not true. This D when the games meant something was holding teams on the run. Hell even JT had a good game or two. You look at this D and who is playing well. J Smith and Simmons have had their best years as pros. Odell is a beast who had a probowl qaulity rookie year. Deltha might be the best corner in the leauge. Tory is an alternate to the probowl. KK has become a reliable starter. Shaun Smith held the point of attack for the last games that mattered. Waterboy is a pass rushing fool. This d had turned the corner. They got Ohalete out, and Mitchel help in covergae and they were finally helping win games. Shaun can hold the line. Water Boy is finally giving Justin a sack partner. This D is going to make the leauge eat crow on sunday. OK tell me about the KC game. The O left those boys out to dry. And our Best D player didnt play. Also KC is a damn good O. Also it was a worthless game for us. Did people say Phillys D sucked when we womped them last year? No. You take guys like Chad, Palmer, and Deltha out and your O line. What the hell you guys expect a D to do. So before you buy in two those last losses just remeber Buffalo was decided by turnovers and we made the rgiht decision to rest hose players. I put on the line and say this d is going to have a great game against this one dimensional O we have coming into town. Look for great games from Smith and water boy this O line doesnt pass block well. That presure is going to force turnovers in that oppurtunistic secondary. Yes football is a team game and that pass rush water boy has is going to make that big of a difference. Also S. Smith holding the line. This d has finally got the things in place. Remeber you heard it here first. Im bettin heavy Bengals . Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Spain, you're the most often saying our team sucks.... Quote
MacD BengalFan Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Didn't you say the Bengals would win 4 game this season? Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Dude, unfortunately the D does suck. Quote
Spain Posted January 7, 2006 Author Report Posted January 7, 2006 Sorry Shula, your not a troll. However my trolls start to be growing. Dude this D has turned the corner even JT will have a good game. Shula they got hung out to dry in KC. Look at the numbers they have put up before that game. They even stood up against the run. Any O that keeps going 3 and out is going to kill any D.com That pass rsuh water boy is getting is going to win this next game! You heard it here first! Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Well I hope the D does step up, but you'll have to forgive my lack of faith! I'm countin' on the O to win the game as usual. Quote
Spain Posted January 7, 2006 Author Report Posted January 7, 2006 Its not faith shula, your just r emebering those horrid images of the KC game. This D going back to the last pitt game has been playing well. Since Keiwan was sent over to cover the TE and Shaun smith came in and held the point of attack. Now Water boy had a break out game andIm excited about this D. Dear Trolls, I might have said they suck, but before they did suck. They have turned the corner. Also I remeber predicting a AFC Cahmpionship loss to NE. However I thinking a bit more now. Quote
Stripes Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Count me as one that thinks there is more than a fair chance that the defense steps up big time today. I think we'll have success against the Steelers running game again (depending on how big an impact we see out the return of Marvel Smith at tackle). Big Ben will get his yards for sure, but in turn I see takeaways, and just like last time, a Bengals victory. Quote
haf5er Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 I really think are defense has been playing better the last 6-7 weeks. Las week was a fluke, alot of starters sitting, and it is hard to play good defense when the offense is going 3 and out all the time. I expect a game very similar to last time, stuff the run, held them to 95 yards, and force Ben to beat us with his arm. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Well at this point, they just need to be good enough to win, nothing more, nothing less. And TDB - the game's tomorrow! Quote

No they arent playing better. Now that teams realize they can pass on them due to a lack of pressure they take that route instead of running in down their throats.. Oh by the way the 4.7 ypc the team is now giving up is 3rd worst in the entire NFL...Make no mistake this defense needs more quality players....That said if they can create some turnovers it gives our explosive offense more opportunities for clock management and roll up some big numbers... Spain Posted January 8, 2006 Author Report Posted January 8, 2006 Sorry guy , but they have you look at the stats when the games meant something and you will see! Quote
walshfan Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 You dont have to look at stats to know this defense is in dire need of more quality players..... Of all the teams in the playoffs its probably the worst one. Quote

Of all the teams in the playoffs its probably the worst one.I am not saying they couldn't use a fw better players, but I do think they have improved against the run. They played the run pretty well last time against the steelers, and then shut McGahee down. I don't really count the Chiefs game, because most players were resting. Quote
